Every trip to DW means a reservation at Chef Mickey's. This year we want to try something new, what are your suggestions for the must have reservation and ones you wish you would have skipped. This next trip will consist of my daughters ages 10 and 14 and newphew age 2 1/2.

We love Cinderella's Royal Table, it's just so magical! Crystal Palace was also very good. It has an awesome buffet and fun character interaction with Winnie the Pooh and his friends :thumbsup2

We've eaten at:
Crystal Palace for breakfast- It's a very pretty restaurant and the characters are cute (Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore). The food is good and the characters come one at a time to your table.

Donald's Breakfastosaurus (which is now Donald's Safari breakfast)-That was cute it had Mickey, Donald, Goofy and I believe Minnie. This was some years ago but if I remember right, the characters were ok and came one at a time.

This year we are trying 1900 Park Fare- Never been but they have Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins. We've gone to the character dinner and it had fabulous food with great character interaction.

Our most favorite was Cape May...very relaxed, wonderful food, attentive service and fabulous character interaction.

Our least favorite was Chef Mickey's...is was a madhouse, the food was gross, the buffet area was a nasty mess, our server was rude and the characters were far too rushed.

In our (DD7 and me...) opinions the number one place to eat breakfast on the entire Walt Disney World Resort is The Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus in Norway (EPCOT). The food is excellent, only takes one TS, includes a photo package, food is great... At least give princesses or leading ladies that are willing to spend a few minutes at your table with your princess.

Now, if it was just Daddy? Grand Floridian Cafe. Great steak and eggs. Easy to get ADRs.

Least favorite? That's a tough one. I'm not sure we have a least favorite breakfast on property.

Cape May is at the Beach Club. It's a fabulous buffet with Minnie, Donald and Goofy in beach attire.

Cape May is at the Beach Club Resort. We are trying it for the first time on our next trip. It may be tricky to get to if you are relying on WDW transportation, we will end up taking a taxi, which should cost around $8, but will save us lots of time early in the morning! I was thinking we would go to Epcot, then walk to BC from the Int'l gateway but our ADR is way before 9, so I realized that won't work for us, so a taxi it will be.
We've had breakfast at CP, 1900 PF, CRT, Akershus, Ohana, Donald's @ TH, and Hollywood & Vine. To me, food wise, they are all pretty similar. I'd make a pick based on which characters you want to see.

Fave- donalds safari breakfast- we like it because you get the basic American foods plus the African foods as well which were fun to try.

Least fave- O'hana- greasy food, not great service two trips in a row.

Most favorite: Cape May Cafe at BC
Akershus Breakfast in Norway Pavillion
CRT for the experience of being in the castle
Donald's Breakfast Safari in AK

Least Favorite: 1900 Park Fare dinner....the characters were o.k. and the food was a miss with us. Another least favorite was Chef Mickey's dinner, the characters seemed to be too rushed to really spend some time with my DDs, we would like to try breakfast sometime though.

Cape May sounds like a ADR we will need to make!!! We are however relying on WDW transportation and there are 10 of us, any suggestions? We will be staying at AKL.

Just take a bus to Epcot, and then walk to World Showcase. Cape May is at the Beach Club which is across from Boardwalk, and attached to Epcot through the back of World Showcase - International Gateway. Basically, you'll enter Epcot, and then walk to World Showcase and exit the park through the International Gateway. The International Gateway is right after England, and before the bridge that gets you to France.

I would make the ADR for after Epcot's opening of 9:00 am, and then you should have no worries of walking through the park to Beach Club. They serve breakfast until 11:00, but when it's slow, like 2 weeks ago, we got a walk-up @ 11:20 as they had tons of fresh food left over (we had to cancel as we slept in, but then got the ressie back 2 hours later!)

It's a great buffet for characters, service and atmosphere. It's never crowded, and the food is pretty good.

Enjoy! Tiger :)

Thank you! Is there a way to get there any earlier....before EPCOT opens?

I said that because it's the only way to walk through Epcot to World Showcase, and out the International Gateway where Cape May restaurant is located.

We don't take busses, so my head is not with it right now - but I'm thinking you can take a bus to the TTC (Transportation and Ticket Centre) from AK, and then catch a Beach Club Resort bus?

Someone else who uses the buses might know 100% if you can do this. If so, you can make an earlier ADR for sure.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

Great idea- take a bus to AK and then from there get on the Beach Club bus.....Ak is usually open pretty early. I'd check the times for that park before you book. Would be great if they had EMH in the morning, then the busses would run really early. Then from Beach Club you can walk to EPCOT or take a bus to another park.
