Watches are a subject I'm heavily invested in, but I try not to post about it here on the DIS because, frankly, I'm boring when I go on about it and I doubt many other DISers are that bothered about the subject.

Just found an interesting tit-bit though which MIGHT be interesting. Certainly made me look twice.

What is the biggest ever price a watch has been listed at? £80,267,067.00, for a Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime 6300/403G made out of white gold. That's $107,258,711.45 in American money.

The biggest RETAIL value of a watch to date is $55m, a watch encrusted in diamonds, the "Graff Diamonds Hallucination" time piece.

The first one is OK, seems like there is too much going on with all the stones and the second one looks like a teeny bopper went crazy with a bedazzler. Should have resisted the urge to guild the Lilly.

I genuinely like mens watches, and there are some beautiful watches out there. Personally, I feel like there is a certain elegance in being being understated, particularly when it comes to older men where a certain sort of James Bond confidence is more desirable than trying to be showy. I mean some men, such as Elton John can do it but not everyone can pull off all the bling.
