Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

Note to Jen (CreightonsMomma), I saw on Brookelizabeth’s TR that Hyperspace Hoopla is taking place at the Hat this year, rather than the Jedi Training stage…so maybe visiting Star Wars Weekends won’t be as bad as you feared?

Hey! Thanks! I saw a youtube video of the new show the other day. It looks pretty awesome. Have you seen it yet? The stage looks huge.

Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1bEiYIM5_U

So, you're right. It might now be as bad as I feared. I also will explain to all the boys (young and old) not to expect to be able to do everything. Either way, i'm pretty sure we will be guaranteed a very fun day. Plus, my nephews have no idea that I am taking them there yet.

Good Morning All!!! Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday weekend !!!I am working Saturday and Sunday BUT am OFF on Monday !!I think Judy has to work Monday BUT it is double time and a half sooo that takethe ouch outta working a holiday!!!:cloud9:

I kinda like her too!
Yeah, you hit the jackpot with that one!!! :thumbsup2
Yeah, that sounds like the same thing. I checked the lint trap of course, but it was clear. Since it was our last day there was no time to call maintenance to look at it. Unfortunately, it's probably still like that.
I'm guessing it still was around New Years; and we used the same dadgum dryers....... :sad2:
I know I already replied to this post Tonya, but I was just wondering....exactly how does one take a dryer's temperature? Where'd they stick the thermometer?
I'm guessing the exhaust port....... :rolleyes1
I'd love to try out some of the other DVC resorts, but with 5 in our family we're kind of limited because of occupancy. At Boardwalk we'd have to go to a 2 bedroom unit and I don't want to use that many points. Although I've thought about doing that and maybe inviting other people (parental units or siblings) since there'd be extra beds. I think Marv told me that some of the OKW 1-bedroom suites now have the sleeper chair and can therefore accommodate 5 people though.
Actually if all the refurbs are done at OKW now (they were supposed to be I think) then all of the OKW 1BRs can sleep 5. I think besides AKV, they also used the sleeper chair in BLT also. Sadly we won't have to do much booking for 5 anymore, :guilty: but at the same time it has opened up so many more possibilities for our upcoming trip..... I have an offsite hotel booked right now, but still checking the possibility of AP/DVC/current Disney room discounts for a possible stay at the Contemporary or Poly with a MK view for our first few days. :woohoo:
That was a big factor in why we bought into DVC....but I didn't say it was necessarily an affordable option. Still, we can get all of us in a 1-bedroom suite, rather than getting two hotel rooms.
Same thought process for us! It gets crowded squeezing 5 in that hotel room with two beds and a sleeper sofa, and the boys were starting to get too big to sleep comfortably together. Nice having that second bathroom at Kidani when everyone is trying to get ready in the mornings too!!! :goodvibes
When we bought in 2008 we got some "Developer" points (ie. one year only, not recurring like your usual points) at Saratoga Springs, but we couldn't use them so we rented them on that board.
We got developer points too. We purchased 200 points and got 400 that were only good the first year, but at any resort! We had a hard time getting them all used up, but we finally managed. Still benefitting from that deal since we could bank the initial 200 we purchased. Still haven't gotten down to only having 200 yet, which is really great!!!
But I like Hi's from everyone even Marv!!!!:rotfl2:
Not sure that is exactly a complement, but coming from Rosie.......I'll TAKE it!!
Plus everytime I read it, I hear Gomer Pyle in my head going Judy! Judy! Judy!. And you just can't put a price on that type of entertainment my friend.
Okay, I may not be the movie quote guru some on here are, but we are in the TV realm now and I'm pretty sure that was Goober doing the "impersonations" with Gomer egging him on and laughing hysterically each time. :)
Even marv? Wow! (Just kidding Marv.)
Amazing isn't it???
What can I say to that other than “Well go-o-olllly!”
I've been following your TRs and PTRs for a while........quite a bit I would say!!! ;)

Whew, I started reading your last post and worried that it was, you know, the last post, and I was a little upset to have missed the end of your report!

Then I realized it wasn't the end, and was relieved. I can't believe it's looming so close, though! Are you sure you can't get back there really soon, so you can keep TRing?

I could use some relapsing time by the pool right now.

Hi Kathy! Thanks for popping in. I do have an update ready, but I think I'll wait until the long weekend's over....it will probably be DISmal around here for a few days.

I imagine you're right Glenn. Hang on, if only for my sake. :rolleyes1

Ah yes, I think I remember that chapter of your TR. There was a big learning there though, correct? I think it occurred in Tony’s, if I recall correctly….was that on the last day? You were a changed Biscuit, who learned to relax a little.
A most excellent recollection. That was from the Honeymoon From Down Under blunder. We also tried it this last trip as we didn't have to be at MCO until 6:00. But alas, it was still a stressful experience and none of us really enjoyed it. Next time it's official. No parks on departure day.

What can I say to that other than “Well go-o-olllly!”
Really that's all man should ever have to say.

Although now that I ponder it, I think it was Goober that did the Cary Grant "Judy" impression. Anywho...I still hear it when I read your updates...and it makes me grin.

And of opening my mouth and insertin my foot!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, you don't have to bring that up....we've forgotten about it.

The good news is that neither poles nor zebras can understand what you tell them, Rosie! ;)

Whew!

Stopping by to wish everyone a great holiday weekend!!!:goodvibes

Thanks Christine! You too! I just gave my grill some new life by changing out the burners and some other parts. I think we're good to go!

I am sure Glenn wishes Judy didn't !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

She's forgotten it too, don't worry.

Same to you Christine !! I think all this Zebra talk may show up in our PTR!!!:rotfl2:

I thought it already had!

Thanks, I hadn't seen it yet, but I just watched the whole thing, thanks to your link. It looks pretty good! I'd love to be a member of "Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes".

I think I liked the music better last year though -- this year seems to lean toward heavy metal. I'm pretty sure the Snig character (one of the hosts) is played by a different guy than who we saw.

So, you're right. It might now be as bad as I feared. I also will explain to all the boys (young and old) not to expect to be able to do everything. Either way, i'm pretty sure we will be guaranteed a very fun day. Plus, my nephews have no idea that I am taking them there yet.

I think you're in for a good day!

Hi Rosie! I'm glad you get Monday off. It's a shame that Judy has to work, but yeah, double time and a half is some pretty nice compensation!

I'm guessing it still was around New Years; and we used the same dadgum dryers....... :sad2:

Oh my gosh. Sorry to hear that you had the same problem.

I'm guessing the exhaust port....... :rolleyes1

<in my best Johnny Carson voice> Ya-ha! :scared1:

That's good to know about OKW, but you'll have to sell me on the resort...I just don't feel a pull yet. I'd like to stay at BWV for the International Gateway, BCV for Stormalong Bay, but OKW isn't calling me. Maybe some pictures and your experiences from your upcoming trip will help.

Oooo, some MK monorail resorts, huh? Nice!

Same thought process for us! It gets crowded squeezing 5 in that hotel room with two beds and a sleeper sofa, and the boys were starting to get too big to sleep comfortably together. Nice having that second bathroom at Kidani when everyone is trying to get ready in the mornings too!!! :goodvibes

Completely agree with all those points!

Wow, that was a great deal. It was only matching points (so 200) when we bought.

Okay, I may not be the movie quote guru some on here are, but we are in the TV realm now and I'm pretty sure that was Goober doing the "impersonations" with Gomer egging him on and laughing hysterically each time. :)

Biscuit chimed in and agrees.

I've been following your TRs and PTRs for a while........quite a bit I would say!!! ;)

Yeah, I can usually find something to say.

Whew, I started reading your last post and worried that it was, you know, the last post, and I was a little upset to have missed the end of your report!

Aw, thanks. Here's the plan, I think I'll have 3 more updtes: 1 more actual chapter of the trip, then some of my favorite pictures, and then a final thoughts/wrap-up.

Then I realized it wasn't the end, and was relieved. I can't believe it's looming so close, though! Are you sure you can't get back there really soon, so you can keep TRing?

Hey, if you guys want to take up a collection you'd probably get enough to send me....part-way down I-95 at least. I could do a report on the "Delaware House" rest stop. Oh wait, scratch that. There's a toll there, so we probably wouldn't have enough collected.

I imagine you're right Glenn. Hang on, if only for my sake. :rolleyes1

You got it. Check back Monday night.

A most excellent recollection. That was from the Honeymoon From Down Under blunder.

That was such a great story!

We also tried it this last trip as we didn't have to be at MCO until 6:00. But alas, it was still a stressful experience and none of us really enjoyed it. Next time it's official. No parks on departure day.

There you go -- you've got the last day planned, so the others should be easy.

Really that's all man should ever have to say.

It could certainly keep me out of trouble if I limited my vocabulary to only that.

Although now that I ponder it, I think it was Goober that did the Cary Grant "Judy" impression. Anywho...I still hear it when I read your updates...and it makes me grin.

I don't remember that....guess I just didn't watch quite enough Andy of Mayberry.

Me too Rosie!! I get Monday off but since it will be my scheduled day off I get to "bank" the holiday and use it later. :woohoo:

Yesterday was busy, busy. I hope today is a little lighter. Considering the day is half as long at least it will go by faster.

I know I already replied to this post Tonya, but I was just wondering....exactly how does one take a dryer's temperature? Where'd they stick the thermometer?

:

Oops...sorry Glenn....I missed this post when I was scanning to catch up. Noticed it when marv replied to it. If I remember correctly he stuck something in the drum and ran it for awhile. We had kept the lint trap clear, but the vents leading outside were plugged so there was no air circulating...we would have done just as well sticking our clothes in the oven. since the washer dryer is in a closet in the middle of the unit and it has to run clear outside, I'm not surprised they plug up. We were on the ground floor, when we went outside again after they got done it looked like it had snowed!

I think I liked the music better last year though -- this year seems to lean toward heavy metal. I'm pretty sure the Snig character (one of the hosts) is played by a different guy than who we saw.

I have been reading that it still gets pretty crowded and it is hard to see because of all the kids on parents shoulders. They are saying that they play it on the huge American Idol screen, though. So, if it's too crazy we can just watch it there. I agree about the music. The dance off music selection was not my favorite but I really liked the ending.

I am getting really excited now. I leave on Thursday to drive to my parents house in Jacksonville which is about 5 hours from my house.

Having Monday off and still being able to bank the holiday sounds like the best possible scenario you could have! I hope your weekend was great.

No problem, I realize it was buried.

That oven analogy is a pretty good one -- I think you're exactly right!

Yes, I noticed some kids on shoulders in that video you linked. Could be nice to watch it from inside AI, but I wonder if you'd still feel like you were "there"?

I am getting really excited now. I leave on Thursday to drive to my parents house in Jacksonville which is about 5 hours from my house.

Dagnabit, now I'm getting excited for you!

Please give us a report on how it goes.

Today was a nice relaxing day. Got some things done around the house but enjoyed some down time. Mid 90's outside so I enjoyed the AC today. :)
