Most exhausting experience at WDW

Aside from the endless walking, what thing do you recall as being particularly exhausting?

I once stood in line for Splash for 90 minutes in mid-July and thought I might fall asleep in the log when I sat down. I was wiped out!

In an effort to reduce WDW Exhaustion Syndrome - let's pool our "poor, tired me" stories and work to avoid repeating others' mistakes. :)

Epcot exhausts me. Always. My dd says it's too big and not as fun--maybe it's listening to her whining that's so exhausting!

Don't laugh but it's waiting for Illuminations. Somehow, once I find a place to wait at and start to wind down, I become very, very tired. Plus, I resent having to stand and wait for the show for an hour when I could be doing fun things!

I think the walk from having dinner at WS to the monorail is endless.....espically when you get to the monorail ramp and it is sooooo steep and long. You finally get to the monorail station after that long walk thru the park then you have to climb Mt. Everest...or that's what it feels like.

We don't plan too many dinners at WS because of that reason. After putting the miles on all day that is just too much. We are in great shape too, and find it rough.

What I used to find exhausting was getting FP at the other end of the parks and having to get back to my group with them....

I did this for the sake of my group's feet last week but in the July heat, getting FP for Kilimanjaro when your group waits at Dinosaur wiped me out. I did this also for KRR while they were waiting at ITTBAB....

It was hot, but worth it....they would have slowed me down had they all followed me. I wiggled my way around the crowds like you wouldn't beleive.

Knowing your way around the parks also helps ttremendously. Really less exhausting knowing your way around than having to check on your map all the time.

Standing makes me tired. Walking is fine. But even a slow shuffle on a crowded day makes me much more tired.
Throw in heat and humidity... :earboy2: Which is why I have not been in the parks as much lately.
Mornings and evenings are great. Midday takes a sturdy, determined or real Disney crazed individual. :headache:

Waiting for hours, then EMH hours, waiting for the 90 day marker, and the eventual arrival of your WDW trip - that's exhausting!

Another exhausting thing to me is trying to keep up with the Fastpasses. Don't get me wrong, I love them, but sometimes you just don't know what to do or where to go in order to kill the time needed before your Fastpass is valid.

We often end up on the other end of the park, or getting something to eat and then we have to hurry to get to the Fastpass attraction in time. It's sort of a catch 22. ;)

That loooonnnnnnggggg walk back to the bus stops at the end of the day. It doesn't matter if your stop is the first que or the last it's exhausting. Maybe because I've had too much fun and don't want the day to end?

On my last trip (November 2004), I had so much "planned" that I was actually on some goofy, though necessary, iterary to work in all of my tours and PS's. :rolleyes1

I had to be at AK by one time for a tour, another time on another day for another tour (MK this time), race over to MGM to see Radio Disney folks (who were not there), see the Imagineers by a certain time (who also were not there), make sure I was on one bus or the other to get to a certain place on time . . . well, you get the picture. I was either watching my time, or trying to back-time when I had to leave one place to go to another. Whew! :sad2:

I actually came back home more stressed than when I left! Some of the guidebooks (yes, the 2004 versions) were incorrect in some areas that I was expecting to see certain things, but were no longer there. Grrr. So here I rushed like a wild woman around the parks, trying to "see everything on my list". :rotfl2:

NOT THIS COMING TRIP, FOLKS! I am going back to see Mickey in a few weeks (Wow! Did I just say that?) and will be doing this trip at a much more peaceful pace. :flower:

I get exhausted waiting for Fantasmic to start, walking back to the car/tram, walking up to Tower Of Terror elevators. I need one of these :moped:

Riding the bus back to HIFS. This was the only time we actually took their shuttle bus and I'm SOOO glad. My mom took the van and the two younger kids back to HIFS for the evening, while my DH and I took the two older ones to MK.

We had a nice time (especially since we didn't have to push strollers), and at closing, we went to the parking area to wait for the shuttle bus back to HIFS. We waited..and waited....and waited... well, you get the idea. After it finally arrived, we piled on. Our boys sat in our laps so that we would only take two seats. We then went to all the other parks to pick up people, and by the time we finished, the bus was PACKED!!! My legs fell asleep from the weight of my son, and it seemed to take forever to get back to the hotel.

I did really like HIFS, but would never, ever rely on their shuttle service again.

Our last trip was CRAZY. I actually fell asleep during the Indiana Jones stunt show and then again on the Ellen D. dino ride at Epcot (can't remember the name...) I was pooped!!!
We usually go from open to close for 7 days.

Epcot is tiring, esp. in the summer - I think the pavement there is different and makes my feet 'burn.' But the most exhausting thing is pushing a wheelchair up the entrance to Space Mountain over and over (my son would just ride SM all day if we let him!)

Waiting in the bus lines to go "home". Also standing on the dark bus on the way back "home", but I would take that over not being at Disney any day!! :goodvibes

Having a big stroller to haul around...exhausting! Do your best to find a lightweight easy to handle stroller.

Having a stroller where you have to lift your child out. Get a stroller with open seating or a tray that can easily open. Lifting your child in and out over and over wears me out!

If you are in a "land" (fantasyland, frontierland, etc) park your stroller and walk to the attractions, grab your stroller when you are done to head to the next land. This may not apply to tiny babies but more for walking toddlers & up. My toddler likes to walk so having that short walking in between rides helps him get that out of his system and then he is ready to ride again afterwards.

I think most of my exhaustion comes from lifting, carrying, struggling with kids. Anything you can do to make it easier helps!

I agree that's REALLY tiring. I can almost feel myself drifting off - it's almost better to be standing though - sitting really does make me fall asleep. ;)

But I'd give my right arm to be standing on a Disney bus right now anyway. ;)
