We are planning to initially book most attractions with all 10 in our group (6 adults, 4 kids under 6) in the same one-hour window. WDW Prep School gives this advice below. Have others with large groups followed this or have you been able to reserve the traditional way/ (Staying onsite early May 2018)

"Sometimes when you're searching for FastPass+ availability, the My Disney Experience system will tell you that it can't find something for your whole group but if you just search for 1 person, it will show up, and then you can try to add other people from your group.

You will begin by going into the FastPass+ screens and make a FastPass+ reservation for 1 person in your group. Then, you need to go back in and try to add more people to it.

Do that by selecting the "Change Party" option on your FastPass+ reservation...Then choose who you'd like to add to the reservation...If there is availability, you'll be asked to confirm."

I have booked FP+ for groups of 8-12 people several times and as long as I book first thing at 60 days out, I have never had a problem. If you are trying for one of the more popular rides and it is end of May you might have to go the route they suggest, but you should be able to get what you want.

Just make sure either you manage everyone or have your MDE accounts linked so you can see their tickets and you shouldn't have a problem. I manage 3 people in our group and everyone else has their own MDE account but we are all linked. I do all the planning for us and make all the FP+ reservations.

I've also read that some have had availability success by booking their large group as two smaller groups, 15-30 minutes different, so that their return windows overlap. We will be visiting as a group of 9 ourselves.

I too have booked FPs for from 8-11 people. Last summer I booked FPs for 8 days for 10-11 people right at 60 days and did not have any trouble. I never have any trouble. If I have to change something (not at 60 days) then sometimes I had problems and would book some at one time and the others overlapping.

You should be fine.

We leave in 20 days for a two week long trip with 10 people. I had absolutely no problem booking FP+. General strategies such as booking the hardest to get fast passes first still apply, but I would say just go for it, just as you would if your group had 4 people.

I booked for 11 people 2 years ago for 7 days and had no problems booking all at once at 60 days out. The only one I split was the Anna/Elsa M&G in MK (at the time.) There were 6 of us (3 kids, 3 adults) and I booked the kids +1 adult first, then went right back in and got the other 2 adults within 10 minutes of the first FP. It all worked out wonderfully!

We go every year with 9 people and we have never had a problem getting fastpasses all together, even at very busy times. Just make sure to grab them at the 60 day mark.

Thanks for this thread. This Nov 11 of us are going and I'll be handling the FP+ thing. In the past it was always just the 2 of us and I got what we wanted, booking 11 had me concerned.

Last big family trip we had up to 22 people at any given time. We were not staying on property, so we made them at the 30 day mark. We managed to get FP for everyone, but often had to break it up to groups of 8 and overlap a few times. It wasn't that tough. 11 Shouldn't be a problem. Searching for groups of 8 and adding 3 is a solid strategy, though.

Now making ADRs under the modern system ? Much harder. Good luck ever finding a table for more than 4 at Be Our Guest. We had to make 8 different 4 tops and beg to get seated in the same general vicinity.

We routinely make FP for 8 people at the 60 day mark. Never had to break anyone up...including our FP for the new Pandora rides on 5/28 & 5/29.

As PP mentioned, ADRs can be tough when it comes to seating you all together. However, I have never had a situation in which I could not book a restaurant for my party of 4 at any restaurant or our party of 20 at a PPO BOG breakfast. I've gotten dinner at BOG as well for a party of 8 on one trip and a party of 9 on another trip. We've even gotten a reservation for 22 for dinner at Ohana...and we all sat together.

It can be done.

Ive booked for 10 people at the 30 day FP window without issue (during late January so not a busy time). Ive never had to break up the group. Not sure if it is harder to do during a busier time.
