We will be going on our first DCL in April and we will have one night to spend at MK before we go home. I want to stay at the most convenient location. Would I be better off with the boats at WL or walking to the monorail from Boardwalk? Has anybody had experience with using the boats at WL? Are they very crowded? Do they run often? Is there always a long line?

As for the Boardwalk, how long would it take to walk to the monorail at Epcot?

Thank you.

Boardwalk is not close to MK. It does have a bus to it (direct to MK front gate area) that takes about 20 minutes (30 coming back as it stops at YC/BC first coming back). Walking from BW through Epcot to monorail that goes to TTC and then switching to MK monorail to MK can often take an hour (just the walking to the monorail part is 25 minutes), so it is not the way to go. Boat from WL runs about every 20 minutes and takes about 20 minutes. Not crowded except during rush opening and closing times at MK. Most convenient resorts to MK are Contemporary (you can walk to MK), and GF (monorail goes directly to MK from there and takes only 5 minutes); Poly also but monorail to MK from there stops at GF first. If your plan is MK only stick with WL or one of the MK monorail resorts.

If we're talking DVC resorts, BWV and OKW would be roughly the same distance to MK. OKW might actually be a little quicker since the buses run to OKW only. VWL is the closest.

I just returned from VWL, and we never waited longer than 10 min ofr a boat, and the ride was 5 min if the boat went directly to MK and about 15min it it went to Fort Wilderness first. It was very convient and never crowded.
