Most bang for TS credit?

My DH loves burgers and chicken fingers, I on the other hand tire of eating them for 2 meals a day for an entire week. I've convinced him to do the dining plan but of course doing better than breaking even is very important to him.

These are the TS meals we have planned
Tutto Italia
Le Cellier
Liberty Tree Tavern (must do for me)
50's Prime Time Cafe (must do for me)
Chef Mickey's Breakfast the day we leave

We need to fill 2 spots. I've been reading mixed things about Coral Reef. We're not opposed to buffets. Basically looking for a restaurant where we can get the most bang for our TS credit. We don't eat seafood, and DH is picky so restaurants like Boma and Jiko wouldn't really fly with him. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Maya Grill (CSR) is VERY good. It has become our favorite.
Also Kona Cafe at the Poly is good. :3dglasses

Its pretty easy to break even on the Adult DP: $37.99

CS meal will cost you $10-15 depending on what you chose for an entree, dessert and drink. Snack is valued at $3 so your TS meal really just needs to be in the $20-25 range with tax included. Any meal with a list price total(entree, dessert and beverage) of $24 will get you there.

I really caution you and your DH into thinking just $ first in terms of DP value. It is pretty easy to get the $ value out of the plan. However, it is so much nicer to pick places and meals you really want to eat. Don't choose steak for value when the pasta dish really tickles your fancy. The value for me on the DP is ordering what I want no matter the cost, not because of the cost. How many times when you eat out do you really ignore price when making your selection?

Not sure why a picky eater couldn't find happiess at Boma. It is one of the biggest and broadest buffets at WDW. There is the kids buffet boasting those chicken fingers/tenders he loves as well as mac & cheese. There is prime rib, veggies, breads, soups, etc. Read the review boards, lots of picky eaters find heaven at Boma.

I've read great things about the Grand Floridian Cafe (steak and such) .
- looked at the menu and prices on allears and seems worth it for DP. We are trying it for the first time in January.

Tutta Italia is an excellent choice byw - however - CM told me they don't know if it will be included in the DP for 09. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cuz we have it booked as well.

The Coral Reef was a good "bang" for a TS credit for us...our bill was about $130 for DH & I. However, that was when the appetizer was still included. They have steak at the CR, and I think pork or chicken, not just seafood.

We don't worry about getting our money's worth plus more out of the ddp though, too much thought required. It works best for us to just pick the restaurants that we like or appeal to us.

'Ohana Dinner

Not to me missed! One, if not our favorite russy! It's at the Poly which is a wonderful hotel to explore if you've never been and it's easy to get there by monorail. Here is there Menu-

Adults $26.99
Children 3-9 $12.99

Starters
'Ohana Welcome Bread
Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing

Appetizers/Accompaniments
Pork Dumplings in Sweet n Sour Sauce
Honey-coriander chicken wings
Maui Scalloped Potatoes
Stir-fried vegetables

Skewers (Prepared over an oak fire)
Asian Barbecue Pork Loin
Spicy Grilled Peel - n - Eat Shrimp
Marinated Sirloin Steak
Mesquite Grilled Turkey

Dessert
'Ohana bread pudding a la mode with Bananas Foster Sauce

Everything on the menu (with the exception of dessert) is refillable and your server will bring you as much as you want! It also has a really great view of Seven Seas Lagoon and MK. If you get a later ADR you can also catch the fireworks and water pagent! Hope this helps :)

How about Whispering Canyon at WL? Good wholesome food or I would also suggest buffet at Crystal Palace in MK

both have great food

Teppan Edo :thumbsup2
They have steak, chicken and seafood. The food there is really good.

I'll second the steak at Coral Reef. DH loves it.

I also agree with the suggestions above, all great ones.

for two TS how about Hoop Dee Doo? if you enjy beer/wine, you'll most definitely get bang for your credit!

also, i don't think that 50s PT is good bang for TS credit at all... at least not compared to coral reef or lecellier or an all-you-care-to-eat place (if you're going for a mix of quality and quantity... we found both lacking at 50s)... i heartily endorse mama melrose, esp if you do the FDP, you then get reserved seating for Fantasmic included :)

Thanks for the suggestions! Bummer to hear that Tutto Italia won't be there.

As far as Boma goes, based on the descriptions we've read online, DH won't eat anything except chicken fingers. He doesn't like anything with sauces, and different seasonings. He's very very picky. Then I would hear that we should have just gotten CS for dinner.

I do know that 50's PTC isn't worth the TS credit, but it's a fond childhood memory from my first trip to Disney and I haven't been back since, so I told DH we have to go this time.

We were thinking about adding Crystal Palace dinner, maybe we'll go ahead and do that. Thank you to the person who gave me the Teppan Edo suggestion. I haven't read about it in any dining reviews and after reading the menu, I think DH would enjoy it.
