Why? If I know my wife knows exactly where something is, why wouldn't it make more sense for me to ask her rather than spend an hour looking for it?
The thing is, my DH does this and he thinks I know where it is, all the time. I don't, so in order to find it I have to look too. I don't need it, he does. Why can't he look, just like I would have to?Originally posted by manchurianbrownbear
Lewski, help me out with this. DW has never given me an explanation that I can understand. Notice I didn't say she hasn't given me a good explanation. Just not one I can understand.![]()
If she wanted something she seldom uses (tape measure, sheet of sand paper, ice melt for the sidewalk, etc...) and I knew exactly where it was, I would be very happy to share what I know with her and spare her the frustration of searching the house for the item. DW is a wonderful, kind, intelligent woman. Why won't she help me out!![]()
How do you KNOW she knows? She may not always know. If you need something, look for it. I wouldn't ask where a specific tool was until I went out and looked in the garage, where the tools are. Most times, I have a general idea of where something is and I will look before asking. I believe you have an idea too and is just wanting me to get it for him.Originally posted by mus muris asinus

i'm not sure if this applies, but when my husband asks where something is, he usually wants me to go get it for him. i usually give him specific directions (it is in the 3rd drawer, to the left, behind the book); he'll quickly open the drawer and say"i can't find it"
that really irks me especially because it's in the exact location that i gave him.

3. He usually goes to bed an hour or two before me. Why is it that when I go to bed, there is often a dutch oven waiting for me when I lift the covers? He couldn't do that an hour beforehand?
