Mosquitos

We will be leaving for our first trip home at BWV next week. This will be our first time there in the summer. Are mosquitos a problem at night? If so, what do you find to be effective protection from them?

We were at Disney early Sept. last year and I don't think we saw one mousequito. We didn't have to use bug spray at all!!!! IT was great.

We've gone every year during the last two weeks of August for the past 6 years and have never seen a mosquito.

Do they let mosquitos into WDW? LOL! I have never seen one the many years we have gone.

Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing a bug at WDW....

Except for It's a Bug's Life, of course.

We went in December and were fine at WDW-on the other hand, we went for a day over to Universal IOA and got eaten alive!! I think they control the mosquito problem with ladybugs at WDW and that is why they have that release program in the mornings. I don't know but the only place I have ever been bitten in FL was off property like that and it wasn't even mosquito season!

We were at the Swan June 29-July 2 and no problems there or at the Boardwalk. But we did get feasted on around sundown when we were at the Grand Floridian Bus stop waiting to go to DTD

Just be careful at sunset and sundown and near water at these times.

We didn't see any mosquitos last time but the noseeums were a different story. AWFUL!

We were at BCV in July and never had a problem anywhere except for Typhoon Lagoon 5:45 am.

They must have trained them not to come out while normal people are sleeping.

My daughter took surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon and we had to be there at 5:45 am. While we waited for them to open up we were sitting on the bus bench's and end up getting bite several times.

So I guess unless your going to be a Typhoon Lagoon at 5:45am then you shouldn't need any bug spray.

We thought they were bad when we were over at Animal Kingdom Lodge to meet up with some friends. We didn't have a problem anywhere else, though.

We never encountered bugs at WDW until our last trip....and there were mosquitos pretty much everywhere we went at night. I'm a mosquito magnet, so I know where there are bugs and when there aren't! The absolute worst was on the MK ferry....I got bit up pretty badly. Everywhere else they weren't bad...but were there.

This was July 26-29 of this year....just a couple of weeks ago. Of course this was the trip where I actually remembered to pack bug spray....but then when we got there I couldn't find it. Still haven't found it. I have no idea what happened to the bag I packed it in....at first I thought I had left it at home, but its not here either!
