Hi all:wave2:
As we are at DLRP next week (along with everyone else from England & Wales;)) I was wondering if we will need to take Mosquito spray/repellent with us?
We have never been in the summer months & have no idea if mosquitos are a problem or not?:worried:
Thanks in advance for anyone who can help (The oracle AKA Carrie cat maybe?:rotfl2::thumbsup2)
Cheers Dawn.

mosquitos absolutely love me, I've been to DLP in May and June and never seen or heard a mozzie :confused3.

Not sure where you're staying, but we always stay at the DCR (in the middle of a forest), and have never found mosquitos to be a problem. Just ants and wasps....and the occasional rat :rotfl:

:cool2: Love the Oracle :rotfl:Very flattered :flower3:

We got our first one in the house last night :sad2: and OH squashed it ;)

Must say that I rarely get bitten here as we take care not to leave lights on when having windows open ...when we are shutting shutters is their favourite time to come in ...

They love stagnant water so as long as it doesn't rain after being so warm and then get warm again there shouldn't be many about as yet.

I'd have thought at DLP near the river path going to Santa Fe/Cheyenne could be a place for them to hang out but it's not like you are sitting out and eating down there. :goodvibes

Thanks for your quick replies :thumbsup2
Looking promising Me thinks :)
We are stopping at a campsite this trip called Le Chene Gris so fingers crossed all will be O.K. & no bites (of ANY kind ;))
Cheers Dawn.

Mosquitos loooove me.

On normal holidays I have to cover myself in spray.

One day in Florida I forgot and got 12 bites while Jack got none.

So last Thursday night when it was boiling hot and I was waiting by a bush for Dreams to start I thought uh-oh here come the bites.

But - I didn't get bitten at all during the trip. And I wore shorts and no repellant all trip!! :)

I'd take some anyway because if you do get bitten then it'd be a pain having to find some. But then I'm a worrier whos medicine bag is bigger than my make up one!

Another here that they love - urgh!

I once forgot my repellant (and I buy the one with the most DEET in as nothing else works on me!), for an hour in Turkey - I literally walked to the restaurant, ordered etc then realised so walked back to hotel to apply. That night I had almost 20 bites on my legs in an hour (arms were covered!). Poor DD1 seems to be following in my footsteps too .

So.... repellant comes with me just in case. However, we went to DLRP end August one year (it was hot) and I forgot to put it on all trip and never got bitten :confused3.

The thing about DLRP is there isn't a chemist on site (Val D'Europe is the nearest and while only a train stop, is a pain if you have to leave DLRP if you don't want to/are on a short trip). So, I take my medicine cabinet like Meg - that way I figure if I have it, I won't need it ;):lmao:.

mossys love me:confused3 no bites on 6 trips however on my 7th trip i was walking towards the village around 7,oclock and i felt something bite me on my ankle it was our last day but on returning home and going to work the next day i had to go to a drop in clinic and get antibotics as it had swollen up so god knows what bit me :confused3 im going back this juy so may take some with me as it wont hurt

Another one who takes the medicine cabinet for the same reason!:goodvibes Rarely have cause to use but if I left it behind you can bet I would need it! Glad it's not just me - I'm in good company!!:thumbsup2
