good idea or would I feel out of place?
and if you suggest going what would you suggest having for lunch? im not the most adventurous type when it comes to food - thanks

If it were me, I'd just opt for the CS at the Tangerine Cafe next door. The food is great, and so are the prices. They have displays of the food, so you can see what they serve. Everything is prepared nicely, and I didn't find anything highly spiced. I bet you'd like it!

Are you solo soon? If you want a really nice TS for lunch, try for some reservations at Citrico's. Don't know how much longer they will be serving lunch, but it was a great solo lunch for me. They have a wonderful salmon salad.

If you're really looking forward to TS in Morrocco, go for it. Main thing is to enjoy yourself. I found the CM's to be wonderful to solo diners.

And a very Happy Birthday, to you, early! :)

I've only been there for dinner. Not adventurous could mean a lot of things. The lamb is probably their most "adventurous" dish, so I wouldn't think you would find the food too esoteric. I did meet someone who thought olives and garlic was too spicy and off the wall tho. Otherwise, they have couscous as the normal starch accompanying most of the dishes. The dining room is sectioned and I don't know if they do performances during lunch, but the stage is sort of the center attraction. During shows, a lone diner would probably not attract any attention if that's your fear and have entertainment to boot.

You'll be fine. Dh and I found this TS for lunch last year when we were at WDW. It was really good and we are definitely going back in december. Highly recommend the jasmine tea. We started with the Chicken Bastilla and the Seafood Bastilla. We liked the chicken a lot better. Then we had the lemon chicken and shish kebab. The lemon chicken was soooo good - highly recommend that one too. To finish we had crepes atlas and bastilla. The crepes atlas which was apple crepes were the best.
The lady dancing and the music was really good. The place wasn't packed at all and we had some really good service.

I ate there solo in May 2005 and tried a sampler platter they had. That way I figured I'd find something I liked. Surprisingly I enjoyed everything.:rolleyes1
I've been back twice since then and enjoyed it everytime. It's great for solos.

It's a great choice for solo dining. They musicians and belly dancer are great.

I highly recommend Lemon Chicken for the non-adventurous eater. :) :)

Also the beef brewat rolls. :)

I am pretty non-adventurous myself.

Ditto on the lemon chicken - delicious and totally fine even for a non-adventurous eater like me.

I was wondering the same thing. I have an ADR there in 2 weeks, but I'm not sure I'll keep it. If I do, I'll let you know how it is as a solo woman!

I think the solo question varies for each person. If you are comfortable eating alone, then it is great. Not only will you be seated at a 2-top, but there are guys playing, um, instruments (I dunno what they are, Africany guitar things) and for a while there is also a belly dancer. So, it isn't like all you have to look at is the wall or a book.

A book/magazine always comes in handy when alone in a restaurant, though. :)

Nobody is going to notice you eating alone. So, you won't feel like people are staring. They are all way too busy doing their own thing to even care. :)

If you aren't sure about eating alone, try it at home. Hit the Olive Garden some evening.

Many people get sent to Orlando on business and end up dining alone in the parks. I did! My first trip I was solo and I ate in the Liberty Tree Tavern all by my lonesome. :lmao: So, if you get nervous, just remember that you aren't the first. :)

Have fun!!!!

thank you and its nice to know there's also men playing instruments
i could just picture myself being a solo woman diner watching a woman belly dancer - didnt want it to give the wrong picture

This past Apr I ate a few meals solo while at WDW, again just last week so thats not a problem for me.

and Simba's mom - please let me know how you like it

thanks for the menu suggestions too

I've had dinner there by myself before--I thought the service was a bit slow, but the food was good. I doubt it's really authentic as far as Moroccan food goes, but I actually don't mind that. I had the Night in Casablanca plate (or something like that) and thought the lamb and the couscous were really good. I think I remember the chicken kabobs as being a little dry.

I eat anything and everywhere by myself, so the solo part didn't bother me any.
