My DH has 2 7:00am tee times planned for our trip. We'll be on the DDP and I'm trying to plan lunch ADRs. Any idea what would be a safe time to make an ADR? How long should a 7am tee time take to run the full courses? If it matters.... 1 morning will be the Palm and 1 morning will be LBV.

Thanks so much!

If you're at the Palm, eating at the Grand Floridian Cafe or Kona Cafe -- both within minutes -- are nice options. Neither is terribly busy at that time.

Kind of depends on your husband's pace of play as well as that of the groups ahead of him...might want to ask him how long he usually takes to play a round. 4 hours is a pretty safe guesstimate for how long the 18 will take. but everyone has their own speed.

I think 4 hours is doable, but not guaranteed. I'd plan to eat someplace nearby around 1 and you should be okay. Is 7 a.m. the earliest tee time? In February, my DH played the LBV course and was the first player out and he got to set up the pin on the 9th hole. He got a commerative scorecard with the date and his name printed on it. He was pretty excited about it.

My husband got to do the 18th at the Magnolia. They put a placard at the hole with his name in addition to the scorecard. A nice "magical moment".

He plays often at WDW and says he sometimes gets paired with people who do not golf regularly. If the tee time is 7, I'd make lunch at 1 just in case he's matched with some slow players.

At least four hours for the golf alone plus time to get to wherever you are eating. I would not shoot for any earlier than 11:30 at the absolute earliest, noon or later would be much safer.

I believe that is the first tee time and he's a pretty fast paced player. He has been the first player before and has a picture of himself in the mickey golf cart setting up too! Wish I knew where that picture ended up.

He had also told me 1pm would be safe but I couldn't believe that with a 7am tee time it would take that long for him to meet up with everyone for lunch but hearing from everyone who posted, I guess that'd be the best bet.

You can tell I'm not the golfer in the family. First time he took me to the Magnolia, they politely suggested (as a queue built up behind me) that I'd probably be more comfortable on the Oak Trail. They let us take the cart! :lmao:

Thanks everyone.

Boy, this is the question for me! DH had tee times around 7 am every morning last year (yes, he golfs every day), then we'd meet for lunch. I COULD have made lunch reservations for noon, and he could have come from the golf course to meet me anywhere. But usually I made them for 12:30-12:45. Most days that gave him time to go back to the resort (OKW) after he golfed, jump in the pool for a few minutes, and change. I can clearly remember that he did this the day he played at Palm and met me at Sunshine Seasons for lunch (he drove, not bus) at around 12:30. Last month he made his tee times closer to 8:00 and was still cooled down, browsed around the pro shop (very important!) and still met me for lunch by 1:15.
