Morning EMH. Yes or No?

I've heard both sides. One person says go for early EMH and get a lot done. Others say avoid that park and go someplace else. What are your thoughts? We will be going June 3-10. We do have park hopper tickets. I am already going crazy trying to plan our days. Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine was there last year at the same time. He says it was very busy.

Without the hoppers, I lean towards no morning EMH. If you were planning on making a half day (or long mid-day break) out of a park anyways, then maybe "go for it".

I like to utilize the early EMH, especially in the summer. It is amazing how much you can get done in the hour!
We generally do the EMH, stay in that park until around 10:30, by then were hungry so we sit and have a snack, go back to the resort for a pool break and then in the afternoon go to another park.

YES - go to EMH - at least at the MK -

I went on Saturday 10/8 with an EMH - it was wonderful

before 10 am we
woke up tinkerbell, rode dumbo, peter pan, small world, pooh, DD fell face first onto the pavement - got a huge goose egg - went to first aid - she was fine went to buzz lightyear, and were at the rope drop for Toontown -

then we went to Minnie's house, rode the Barnstormer and made the 10:40 Cinderellabration, headed to lunch, the TTA, Belle's storytime, DD rode the tea cups with Belle - DH and I rode Space Mountain with a FP (while mom took kids to Tiki room)

rode Splash Mountain with a FP, Hall of Presidents (DS and mom went on train while we rode Splash), Philharmagic, Dinner at LTT, Snow Whites
ride

afternoon parade, Spectromagic and Wishes

wow that wore me out just reading it - but since we had done all the major non fast pass attractions in the morning we took a slower pace in the afternoon riding the less popular attractions and using FP when possible

the EMH gave us the flexibility to really do all that and not worry about how crowded the park was (most stand by lines were an hour!)

When we were there last time, they only have morning EMH and we took advantage of it and never regretted it.

For our upcoming trip, we have hoppers and I made our Crystal Palace ADR for 10:30am on the anticipated date of MK's morning EMH. Our plan is to go early, enjoy the park and then grab breakfast. If it's too crowded when we're done, we'll leave and head to another park for the rest of the day.

I think morning EMH is a good idea if you have hopper tickets.

If you and your family are early risers anyway, take advantage of the EMH. Since its a vacation, a lot of families like to take it easy and sleep late and generally get to the park an hour or two after it opens.

aterriq took the words out of my mouth. We went with our 3 kids and my friend and her family last year from June 4th - 11th and we tended to stay in the parks until later than usual and then just couldn't get up in the a.m. in time to make it to EMH on time so we would go to a different park. The only park I regretted not doing morning EMH is MK but we did the nighttime EMH. If you are able to get to the EMH park early then go for it. We just couldn't do it. We never had long waits at MGM so I wouldn't worry about that park. MK gets crowded, Epcot doesn't, but at that time Soarin' was new and you needed to get a fast pass by about 1:00 to avoid LONG standby line waits. When you go (we're going back then too since my b-day is the 11th) Expedition Everest will be open so AK will probably be a good park for EMH. I am SOOOOO excited about that ride!

Thanks everyone for your advice. We'll especially try to go to EMH for MK. My plan for that day was to eat at CP at 10:30 (thanks kelleigh 1 and helenk). We also like to stay late and watch the fireworks, so we'll have to see. I do remember when we went in June of '04 we didn't have much problem with waits as long as we went with a plan. We didn't go to any EMH days just because I was told to avoid them. Also, I realize our trip is a long ways away, but I just can't stop thinking about it. At least this time my family is just as excited as I am since they all know what to expect. We do want to slow down a little this time and use the pool a little more than we did last time. So I also figured if we can all get going in the morning we could go to a park then have time in the afternoon to swim and enjoy the resort. Then go back to a different park later. Just as long as we get on Soarin, TT, MS, EE, TOT, RNR,and all the mountains in MK. Of course we have a long list but those are our must dos.
