Morning EMH without using the EMH

Hi all,
Is it a really bad idea to go to the a park with morning EMH, without using the EMH? We want to start our trip with AK but the first day is morning EMH from 8-9. We are staying off property so we wouldn't be allowed in until 9AM. I don't think we'll be rushing to try to get on the Avatar ride though.

I used the morning EMH's on my past trip. For AK, the wait times were still relatively minimal for the two big thrill rides outside of Pandora. But YMMV. Kilimanjaro Safaris got up to about 35 minute posted standby when the park opened to the general public and did get longer as the day went on.

If you are not using EMH, I'd avoid that park (at least in the morning). If you must visit that park on that day, go after 2 or 3pm.

So I'll go against the usual advice. If you can get FP for the other big rides, the Safari and Everest, maybe Dinosaur or Festival of the Lion King, I think it would be fine. But then I don't bother with the very wet ride anymore. I think it depends on what time of the year you are going also. I spend a lot of time walking the animal trails and enjoying the general AK ambiance.

In general yes.
There are a lot of people who use EMH. If you don't, think of it as arriving to the park an hour or more after it opened. Long lines for many rides have already formed.
We either use EMH or skip that park that day.
