Morning EMH Times

What time does EMH really start in the morning? I have been reading about the HS EMH and it seems that they have been letting people in 30 minutes prior to the start time. Is that the common practice at all parks?

We are doing a last minute trip in September and I think EMH will work better for us that FP+ due to the times and attractions we were able to get.

Should we plan for an 8am EMH (based on the current park calendar) or for a 7:30am open?

For DHS and DAK I would arrive 45 min.+ before the posted EMH time.
