Morning EMH or no?

We've always taken advantage of certain morning EMH - especially for MK. Is it also still a good rule of thumb to avoid the morning EMH park and get there early for rope drop at a non EMH park? Just wondering if that tends to work better for some park over others. What are your experiences?

Thanks!

I was literally just trying to find out the same thing! Wondering if it’s better to avoid Epcot on a morning EMH if we may or may not make it by the start.

We've only done AM EMH at AK. We enjoyed it so much. Everyone ran to FoP and we basically had the rest of the park to ourselves.

I don't know if we will ever do them at another park. It really just depends on the situation.

EMH at MK is Great- we go every time & get all of Fantasyland & Tomorrowland in during the first 2 hours

We also used am EMH at all three of the other parks last week. It worked to our advantage at all of them. The only down side generally is getting up that early- but our kids are early risers and it really works for us.
At every park, we go on multiple rides before lines build and we really enjoy that. At HS, we were able to ride all of New toy story land (including TSM twice in a row with no line)

We've had great success with morning EMH at all of the parks. We typically hop to another park at mid day because it seems to get really crowded then.

We just got back. We planned to rope drop every day. We did not. We DID arrive at AK right at opening (24,000 steps that day), but we are night owls. We had very good luck using the refresh strategy, as well as riding right before closing. No one was cranky, either. I would highly recommend rope drop, though.

Morning EMH are gold to us in every park. It’s really the only thing that dictates any kind of planning from me.

And like @SaintsManiac, we FP the popular stuff so when we hit AM EMH we don’t follow the crowd and therefore have the remainder of the parks to ourselves.

Just out of curiosity, what did you do in AK right at rope drop for EMH. We will be in the same situation in a couple of months and don't plan on rushing to Pandora. I thought had it worked out that we would ride the train to Rafiki's etc but then I saw that it does not open until 10:00.

We did Na’vi, Everest, Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, all walkons

We did Na'vi (walk on), grabbed Starbucks, husband rode Everest 3 x, then we used our 8am Safaris fast pass. It was getting busy by then. We had FP for FoP at 9am.

This was a 7am EMH and it was still a pretty big line for FoP when they let us in.

Epcot morning EMH are a great time to ride frozen multiple times if that’s a priority for your group. Overall Epcot morning EMH were kind of a zoo, and I don’t know if I’ll do them again, but with two kids, one too short for most other things at Epcot, we did frozen three times in a row with little to no wait. The best thing about EMH is no fast pass return line to compete with standby.

Here’s my take...

Yes, if you are definitely going to be there on time and if it doesn’t prevent you from taking advantage of evenings. If there’s a headliner that you really want to ride, getting in line 15 minutes before close is great and unless you’re at the very head of the emh pack, is probably your best option.

I agree MK, AK and DHS are definitely better than EP.
