Morning EMH at Epcot with Soarin

Next month when my family & I are at WDW we plan to go to Epcot when they are doing the morning EMH, so this way we can go right to soarin. My question is assuming we get to the gate before they start letting the resort guests in (which is what we plan to do), would we be able to walk right onto Sorain with maybe a 5 - 10 minute wait & then go back on a 2nd time, or would it be better to get a fastpass if we wish to go on a 2nd time?

Last time we were at Epcot it was the regular parking opening, so no morning EMH. We got there just before the park opended & went right to Soarin, but I think we had waited 20 - 30 minutes.

Basically I am asking how much of a difference is there when you go to Epcot during morning EMH & go right to Soarin when the park opens?

It depends on when you go. I went to EPCOT on 11-3 and got there at 11:15. We went to AK first to ride Everest. We went to Soarin' and the wait was listed as 45 minutes, but from the time we got in the queue until done with the ride was 18 minutes. We rode Soarin' 4 times that day before 3 p.m.

I'd say if you are going next month before 12-23 and on a weekday, you should be able to ride Soarin' without much of a wait.

If you are going on EMH day and plan to arrive at park opening, I would think you should be able to walk-on Soarin the first time, and have a minimum wait 5-10 mins the second time - especially if it's during a slow time of year. If it's during Xmas break, then I'd do a fastpass.

If you arrive at the park towards the end of EMH and slightly before all other guests arrive, I would see what the wait time is on Soarin, and perhaps get a fastpass for your second ride. Hope this makes sense.

Like I said before we plan to arrive at Epcot before it opens on the EMH morning. So hopefully we will only wait at least the 5-10 minutes. Anything after that it's out of my families control, so all we can do is get fastpasses if we wish to go on a 2nd time.

We were there in April for our kids school vacation, definitely a busy time. We got to Epcot for the morning EMH about 7:45 for an 8 EMH opening. We were allowed into the park right away, but then stopped at the rope right by Innoventions. There were a group of people going to the left towards Test Track and Mission Space, and a group going to the right towards Soarin, which is where we were going. At 8, the CM's held the rope and started walking towards Soarin, with all of us following. They finally moved, some people ran, we kept walking. We ended up waiting maybe 5 minutes once we made it inside.

we did Soarin last Dec on the EMH day. We got FP for it, then got in line. We waited about 10 mins in line.

Then we headed over to the land and did stuff over there, and once we finished that we headed back to Soarin' and used our FP, where we waited for maybe 5 mins.

The standby line was posted as 45mins. We once again got FP, after we got off (our time had opened up) and came back to ride it one more time as we were leaving the park.

We went to Soarin immediately when we arrived at EPCOT on 11/2. It was a nonEMH day and a Thursday which was definitely a good day to go. Crowds were good all day. We got to Soarin about 9:15 - 9:20 - we were at that park before opening but one of my DD lost her ticket within 10 feet of the park entrance (before I could get it from her)! So we had to go to Guest Relations to get a replacement. We got a FP immediately and then went on the ride. We had less than a 5 minute wait. We then went on immediately as soon as we got off. The wait then was 5 minutes. The wait would have been even shorter but we waited for the front row. We used our FP later in the day. We actually got another FP at that time and so we ended up riding 4 times. I couldn't believe how well it turned out. So, if you are going on a good crowd day, you should have no trouble riding Soarin at the beginning of the day. Have fun!

Morning EMH is slightly less busy than evening EMH. If you are on one of the first flights, you shouldn't have much trouble getting right back in line and riding a second time with minimal wait. This is, of course, dependent on when you are coming. If you are coming during the holiday weeks, the answer is likely no, but if you are coming the week before X-Mas or earlier this strategy will work.

I would designate a family member to get the fastpasses while the rest get in line, then have them catch up with you. Of course, this wouldnt work if there was no standby line. Have fun! :cool1:

Are the fastpass machines open during EMH or do you have to wait for regular park opening?

If you ride Soarin and get a fast pass...what is the return time during a normal operating day? Also, when can you get the next fastpass?

get fastpass, and ride soarin, after you get off, walk to tt and ride it, grab a fastpass to tt, as the window from your soarin fp will allow you to get one then. walk back to soarin and ride it...now you will have over an hour to go to imagination pavillion, ms, before your fp for tt is ready.

There are no Fastpasses during EMH.

If you get Soarin' Fastpasses right off the bat in the morning the return time is generally between 9:45 and 11 or so, depending on how busy it is and how many people are utilizing Fastpass. Of course, there are never any guarantees.

This won't work - you can only have a Fastpass every 2 hours so getting a 2nd Fastpass at Test Track will not work. If you want to ride Soarin' twice and not wait at Test Track, what I'd do is have 1 member of the party go get FP's for TT while everyone else heads to Soarin' Then meet up at Soarin', ride it twice in a row without getting FP then go back and do TT with your FP's.

Last Dec we when on soarin 3 times in less then an hour on opening.
