We did! Our ceremony was 9am (thanks to being in Epcot) so our pre-reception was 10-11am, and our reception was 11am-3pm (the default is 3 hours, we extended to 4 hours). If you're considering a 10am ceremony, bump these times up by an hour. We told everyone to be at the entrance to Epcot for the dessert party by 7:30pm.
My husband and I walked back to our resort (reception was at Atlantic Dance Hall, us and a number of our guests stayed at Beach Club), got the HECK out of my dress (unless you pick a tea length gown, chances are you will be overheated! Plus it makes it easier to use the restroom!), had a bottle of champagne with my husband and watched our livestream ceremony/commented to well wishers back home on social media. We also took a nap (bout 45 minutes) and then a few friends came by to help me get back into my dress and tidy up my hair before we walked over to the International Gateway.
Both sets of parents went to Publix earlier in the week to get beer/wine/other refreshments, as they felt they needed to "host" an informal gathering for family members during the time in between in their hotel rooms (we had 75 guests total and about 50 of those were family) though I think virtually no one came to those. From what I heard, the vast majority of people went back to their hotels, changed and either a) took a nap or b) hung out at the pool. Some people went to DTD and a handful went into Epcot early on their own, with their own park tickets.
To us, it was totally the perfect scenario, and no one complained about the gap. The best part of it all was leaving the wedding reception knowing we still had more fun ahead of us!
