We are early birds; wondering if there are anything exciting for us and the kids (5 and 7) early in the morning.

Was trying to read the Navigators but it did not seem that there were many activities in the morning from 9 to 12.

I could not even see any movies available in the morning! And most likely we are not getting offshore at Nassau.

Any suggestions?

Children's programming starts at 9 each day. Pools, sunning on deck, etc. Movies usually later, but there are 2 movie channels on your TV...breakfast, pop kids in programming and go to work out room or spa....

I'd suggest taking advantage of the pools while they're relatively empty! When you see the Mickey pool at mid-day, you'll be glad you're early risers.

i know that activities are good for the kids - but we liked showing our kids how the ship docked and how we came into the islands - so if there's no fun activity you can do this

On our Magic cruise last January, we became addicted to shuffleboard. Kids love pushing the disks around and the scenery is so beautiful. We enjoyed playing both at port and at sea. The boards were never in use in the early morning.

Actually, we had no idea about the rules of the game. However, DH has since pulled rules off the web, so we hope to play some real games this time around.:p

THe kid programming schedule for the entire cruise is available in the club/lab when you board. It is a combination of planned activities (making flubber, making mouse pads with your picture on it, a game called "into the blender" where at the end, they make smoothies, learning to draw a Disney character, making a picture frame then having a pic with Mickey taken to put in the frame (you get the pic free), character visits (sometimes unannounced), and "free time" where the kids can explore the various play forms available in the club/lab.

I'm sorry that most of the activities I've listed are from the 8-12 group, but you get the idea. It's been many years since DD was in the younger group.
The Club layout is a take off on Capt. Hook's ship. There are dress up costumes, and it is really neat (that's for "free" time). The activity changes every hour or so. The club has story time with characters, etc....all age appropriate stuff. The only way to find out what is scheduled when is to consult the children's navigator. THere is a sample posted at www.castawayclub.com.

DD loved the dress up costumes!!! Unfortunately, since the Norwalk virus outbreak over a year ago they no longer have the costumes.

Just an FYI...They had costumes when we went on the Wonder Aug 31 to Sept 4 2003.

Thanks for the update Luckymommyx2! Maybe the costumes on the Magic have returned also. Anyone have any (Magic)costume updates since 4/26/03?

There are typically character greetings throughout the day, in the atrium. I believe some of these start about 9:00 am. You can check out the daily schedule the night before in the atrium.
