Morimoto or Boathouse and why?

We will be at WDW starting next week and I have been making and cancelling reservations at Morimoto and Boathouse for 3 weeks now because I can't decide which one we prefer. We have never eaten at either one. None of us are picky eaters and there are things on both menus that we would all enjoy. My daughter is gluten-free but, based on the menus, that won't be a problem at either place.

So, any thoughts on why you would eat at one over the other?

Also, if you think there is a better DS restuarant we should do instead, throw it out there. I welcome any thoughts on DS restuarants.

Having eaten at both a few times, you have no wrong answer facing you. Both are excellent venues with tasty options. That being said, if you're going at dinner, then my vote would be Morimoto simply because they have one of the better dishes on property, the buri bop (which isn't available at lunch). If you enjoy Asian fusion cuisine, I'd give Morimoto a slight edge over The Boathouse.

I liked the Boathouse better, but both were good. I have been lucky enough to eat at another Morimoto restaurant and this one didn't measure up in comparison which may be why I was not that impressed.

I've eaten at both and Boathouse would be my pick. The food at the Boathouse was consistently good. Morimoto's had some hits and misses.

What are your preferred dishes at each place?

As the others have said, good news is you can't go wrong. Have you considered doing both? Maybe sitting out on the dock at Boathouse and grabbing a drink and an appetizer and then going to Morimoto for dinner? You could also do the opposite and grab something from the lounge or carry out window at Morimoto and then dinner at Boathouse.

Amazingly the Boathouse has outstanding steak. It’s from Gibson’s in Chicago I also really like the Lobster Roll and pimento cheese appetizer

That's a great idea! I think we'll do that. Thanks!

We have eaten at both a few times and if our family has to pick one it’s always Morimoto Asia. We have had some out of best meals in DW there. It’s also the only place my 7 yo asked to go every trip lol

First: DDP or not? It makes a SERIOUS difference.

DDP - pick anything.

NOT DDP? Consider the BOAT to the WDW Dolphin. Hit Shula's. TIW accepted, no DDP.
All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Boathouse. Morimoto Asia Street Food is just as good (albeit a much smaller menu) so if you have time, grab food to go another time. Boathouse is one of our TS faves in all of WDW.

May I ask why these two in particular seem appealing to you? As for Boathouse, I assume the draw is seafood or steak? And for Morimoto's it is Japanese food, sushi, Asian dishes, etc. I didn't find either to be that fantastic. Boathouse was disappointing, they couldn't even do salad or clam strips properly. Morimoto's was okay, really overpriced.

I'd recommend Raglan Road over both of these.
