hi everyone,
we are considering staying at Vistana Village (travel agent realing pushing this one) for a few days in May. But have also looked into caribe Royale. I have a 2 and 4 year old so a great kiddie pool is a must even a spray park type thing. Also, i like the rooms to be on the nicer/newer side. What does everyone think..whats the kid pool like and what area should i be requesting for this?

thanx everyone

Vistana Villages is a pretty new resort and gets good reviews on Timeshare Users Group. I saw pics on the starwood (or was it sheraton?) website and I would definitely stay there

I stayed at Vistana Villages in 2002 and am a travel agent myself. It is a really really nice property and when we walked into our room we really got the WOW factor it is gorgeous. We had a 2 bedroom unit with nice furnishings, jacuzzi in the master bedroom, full kitchen with washer/dryer which was good.

All the apartments were close to the pool which was large and a zero entry pool. There were little waterfalls that went into the pool. It seemed like a nice pool for kids.

I didn't travel with children and unfortunately didn't spend a whole lot of time at the complex as we were out at the parks most of the time but I would go back there again anytime. We exchanged a timeshare with RCI so can only go once every 4 years to that property.

I am a travel agent and have stayed there twice myself, as well as sold it several times. The pool is excellent. My kids were 1.5 and 3.5 the first time we went and they loved the end of the pool for them. It is zero entry and has a fountain in the middle. I spent most of my time on the lounge chairs right beside the kids area and never worried about them. They love the water and just ran in/out most of the time. We were there again in Feb '05 with another family and there little guy was nearly two. He loved it as well. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The rooms are spectacular!
Go and enjoy ~ but beware you may be tempted to buy a week :rotfl:

thank you so much everyone...the choices in the area are overwelming. i'm pretty sure we wills stick with the vistana.

engineergirl2001--- First WELCOME TO THE DIS!!! I have not stayed at the Vistana Villages. However, it looks like you're getting some good overall response about the resort.

Just wondering if the vistana villages has any tennis courts? Also, how would you rate this property for older kids....mine are 13 and 11.
Thanks!

There are no tennis courts, as of this past February, anyways. My niece was with us and she is 13. She loves the hotel, but we do alot of things outside the property too.

I have a few questions:

Is housekeeping included?

What's the difference between the resort and the village?

How far to WDW?

Is housekeeping included?
This is a timeshare resort, so I'm assuming it is the same as the main Vistana resort and offers midweek touchup. At the main resort this includes : vacuum rugs, run dishwasher, empty trash, replenish towels/soaps etc. YOu can pay for extra housekeeping. I think it's $25 or more per day though.
What's the difference between the resort and the village?
I have not stayed at the Villages but from what I've read, it is smaller and newer than the main resort. The Villages offers less in way of onsite dining and recreation, though I believe they have included more in the way of activities over the years. I believe there is only 1-2 pools vs 7 at the main Vistana. I know the main resort has 2 sit-down restaurants and a casual walk up Bar and Grille over in the Cascades section, as well as a Pizza Hut onsite. I believe the Villages has a deli which is open for B, L and D. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I believe both resorts have a General Store where you can buy supplies.
This Villages is still presently under construction and I've heard nothing but glowing reviews. The main resort is much larger and consists of 8-9 different neighborhoods. Some are older and may appear more dated in way of both construction and decor. The resort is pretty consistant in keeping up with maintenance and decorating though. But some people dread getting one of the older sections and there is alot of demand/requests for the newer sections----which are not guarenteed. If you're not picky about where you stay, you can usually get some very good rates at the main resort on the internet (skyauction.com comes to mind) as well as : http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_svistana.htm
How far to WDW?
The Villages is located on International Drive and more conveniently located to Sea World. I believe it's about a 20 min drive to WDW. The main resort is on SR 535 and one can get to WDW in about 10 min. I can get to Downtown Disney/Marketplace in 5 min from the main resort. The MK is the disney park that takes the longest to get into because it's about a 10-15 min drive (from the main resort) then could be another 20 min to get into the park from the MK parking lot.
Hope this helps. Those that have actually stayed at the Villages may be able to help you more.

I just have to pipe in with my 2 cents worth!
We just stayed there in October and have to say we were very impressed with the units and the staff. The units are spacious and decorated so nice. We stayed in the large one bedroom side. I especially love how that even there is only one bathroom there are two separate vanity areas on each side complete with closing doors. One is in the bedroom and the other is in a room by itself. So technically THREE people could be grooming themselves, shaving, putting on makeup, getting dressed, brushing teeth or whatever in the privacy of there own area at the same time. We own a Westin timeshare and have been to several of the properties in the network and this is a first for us. I also like that you can park right outside of your unit. No more walking after the 50 miles or so you do daily in the parks! Anyway, I will say it is not as magical as staying onsite, but for offsite, it is wonderful. I recommend the Villages, no hesitation. Good luck deciding and have a wonderful vacation. :flower:

We are staying at Vistana Villages in June. I am happy to see there are so many positive reviews. :teeth: I know that it looks very nice from the outside, we drove by on our last trip.
