I sure hope everone stays safe and that this tornado goes through with NO DAMAGE

EDMOND< RIGHLAND HILLS......On the ground, they say it is a strong one.

Looks like another late night for us. We're northeast of the OKC area and it looks like what's in OKC could be moving our way later.

We've had some pretty calm spring weather the last couple of years, but this one has been something else!

The news is saying that the Zerox plant was damaged...not good news for a lot of people.:(

Now our news is not saying anything about it. Of course, we are about an hour north of Austin which is a way away from OKC.

SUre hope the storms lighten up and disappear soon.

They're showing some pretty incredible live shots from the OKC area here. It's hard to see much because it's dark, but you can see the flashes from the power lines being hit.

No one is saying how strong this one is, but it's sure been on the ground an awfully long time.

Weather channel just had a report about tornadoes around Kansas City (I THINK) so the whole area is in for another noght of bad weather.

Hope all our DIS family members stay safe.

What, again.
DH (dear Honey for 11 years) work uilding was hit last night. He is at my house tonight, over 100 miles from OKC. He lives near 16 and Rockwell OKC. IS thier any damage their?

I hope his salt fish are ok.

I'm not familiar with the area you're talking about. I know that it's pretty much headed up the Turnpike towards the Tulsa area.

It does sound like it was a nasty one, but so far no reports of serious injuries. Since it's headed right over the Turnpike there's lots of people stranded on the roads. What a mess!

If it stays on this path, it'll be in our area in an hour or so. Usually this late at night, it would weaken before it gets this far, but you never know. It's hot and muggy here and that's not good.

Hope it does stop before it gets to your place Peachtree. My DH is around the Amarillo exit , edge of Bethany but still in OKC,.

We will keep prayers for you.

I am so glad no deaths yet from yesturday. Hopefully none tonight either.

My motherr will be so worried for us if she hears of another tornado in OKlahoma.

Everything's out of the metro area -- is everyone here okay? We've still not heard from my boyfriend's parents, grandma or my friends who live in Dutch Forest (122nd and Hefner)...

Apparently the roof got ripped off of PC West.

It seems to be weakening and then coming back -- hopefully it'll dissipate more before it hits Tulsa.

edited to add: After this spring, I'm definitely ready to move to FL!

Ok, now I know where you're talking about. They're saying now that so far they don't think there's a lot of really serious damage..at least not like yesterday.

I'm getting the same reports, weakening then strengthening again. We're south of Tulsa just a bit so who knows, thanks for the thoughts.

There's another smaller cell southwest of us moving this way too.

Hope everyone in the OKC area is safe and sound. Time for us to move the cars in and put away the loose stuff in the yard. :(

We are okay. It missed us in Norman. I think 16th and Rockwell should be okay, too. They may be without power but it looks like the tornado went way north of there. We were concerned about MIL and FIL. They live near 23 and Rockwell and it passed north of them. Glad you guys are safe.

It's finally quiet here as well in the Tulsa area. It makes for a very late night and looks like round 2 may be here later Saturday.
Glad to hear everyone seems to be fine.

I sure will be glad when summer gets here!

YIKES! How scary! Did y'all manage to get any sleep? Glad you are safe.

I haven't heard from WillyJ since yesterday afternoon. He's about a half hour south of Tulsa, I think. Anyone know about that area? :(

Let's see...1/2 hour from Tulsa....my backyard? ;)
If he's 1/2 hr south of Tulsa, he's got to live very close to where I am. If there was any damage in this area, it was very light. It was a really close call, but thank goodness nothing serious at all.

For as bad as it looked, we didn't even get a drop of rain at our house. Lots of lightening and we were under tornado warnings but thankfully nothing touched down. There's nothing like watching the weather and have the weatherman point on the map and name your street as a possible area where there could be a tornado.

I know OKC got some damage, but nothing like the other night.

Now it's hot and cloudy and humid so I wouldn't be surprised to see a repeat again tonight. It's supposed to be around 90 today...really too hot for this time of year, then only 50 by Sun. For anyone who's lived around tornados and severe weather, that's a pretty clear sign that we'll get more before this is over.

Sleep??? What's that? ;)

I finally got around to turning the TV on....looks like we won't have to wait until tonight for more bad weather. We're under a tornado watch and there's a severe thunderstorm warning for the area around Stroud (just east of OKC and where there was some damage last night). Doesn't look too bad at the moment though.

Oh well, maybe it'll get here and get over with at a decent hour!

Sure hope that no more bad weather visits any town where a DIS member lives, a DIS family member lives, an acquaitance of a DIS member or family lives, or any town that starts with a letter of the alphabet.

Thanks peachgirl! I heard from WillyJ a little while ago. It sounds like last night he didn't get much sleep either. :( He also said they're getting pounded again today. I wish it would stop! :(

It will go away...as soon as hot weather gets here for good. We rarely get tornadoes much past May, although they've been known to happen any time of year!

The storms today weren't bad at all really and they're calling for a calm night so looks like we'll get to sleep! It's supposed to cool off so we ought to at least be in the clear for the next few days.

I've lived here all my life and you just get used to it, it's a ritual of spring. Besides, we've got some really incredible radar in this part of the country. I always thought everyone had the kind we did until the first time I watched a local newscast out of town. We get lots of advance warning with plenty of time to prepare.

The only danger is that the radar is so good that now they call tornado warnings anytime they see a cloud rotating. 99% of the time it won't turn into anything and sometimes you really want to ignore it because you know the chances are it's going to be nothing. That's the one time it will turn into something though, so I try not to be too casual about it.

My thoughts and prayers to everyone in the area. I hope everyone is safe
