I am very particular about walking barefoot or in socks around the room's carpeting/flooring since so many people have been staying there prior to your stay. I bring along an old pair of slippers that have been worn long enough and beginning to tear so I use them while walking around in the room and then I throw them away when our vacation is over.
Now that some of the resorts have a coffee pot, I bring coffee filters, hot chocolate & tea and water from home to make in our room. Before I use the coffee pots though, I run some vinegar water & plain water through it to ensure the maker and pot are clean.
