We like to stretch out the fun of a Disney vacation and build anticipation by having a countdown while we're still at home. I usually start them 40 days out and try to do a different little activity with the kids everyday. With the craziness of planning and getting ready for our trip, I like to have these few minutes to spend with my kids. Some days we will make a Disney snack or dessert, others we create a craft, sometimes we learn, or read a book. I have several lists on my blog if you want to use some ideas to have a countdown that's more than just a paper chain.
I have a 13 year old girl and 6 year old son, so I try to make the countdown something that we can all enjoy together.https://aleasalbums.wordpress.com/2015/10/02/new-countdown-to-disney-ideas/
