On the grapevine I heard that the resorts will soon have bag checks before the getting on the buses at the resorts..... anyone else heard this?

Possible but I would think doubtful. I'm sure this would be a way to shorten bag lines at the parks but then how do you know who's already been checked and who hasn't.

True, unless they just start doing everyone..... I think this is supposed to be in conjunction with less actual people in the parks and more detectors/less bag checking -kind of like universal- so they would be diverting more human security to resorts (and adding more hidden security once that happens).

sounds like someone paranoid at security starting this rumor. It's not practical to have scanners at every bus stop. Many resorts have more than 1 and most of them are barely a little hut to sit in.

I've heard of bag check moving to the TTC for day guests and that MK would have a redesigned bag check for the busses and resort transportation.

Interesting wonder how they would handle BLT/Contemporary since you can also walk right up to MK front gates

I would much rather get checked at my resort if it meant that once I get to the park gates I can just scan my magic band and walk in (waiting in line to scan the band of course)

Likely check at the resorts just like buses.

The question was related to the rumor that the TMK bag check would be moved to TTC, with another bag check for busses (and presumably walkers from Contemporary). Since the resort and express monorails both dump out to the same platform, there would be no way to check those guests. That means either resort monorail bag checks or a redesign exit for the TMK monorail that separates express and resort.

Here's my problem with security at resorts -

There's no way to call them directly.

I could see Disney doing this. However, it would mean them spending money to hire additional people and construction work to set up the security stations and secure areas for bus loading / unloading and a new security setup at the TTC. The question would be whether or not they wanted to spend the money.

I was saying the resort monorail bag check route.

Either way I don't see this as something that is likely.

There's also the issue of the resort launches that service the resorts on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. They'd have to install security stations at each dock. That seems unlikely.

Don't forget that there are three other theme parks. If you move bag checks to the resorts, that means you'd have to some sort of barrier to keep pre-screened guests separate from unscreened people at those other parks. That would be a huge waste of money with very little benefit.

It would be routed to the resort check since it's already near the buses.

What would they do about the resort monorail?
Likely check at the resorts just like buses.
The three monorail resorts would have bag check set up at or near the resort monorail platforms. Anyone getting on a Monorail anywhere would be screened prior to boarding with the exclusion of leaving MK.

Talk I've heard is that they would be screened after arriving at MK. Their exiting docks and the busses would be re worked to enter to a single resort bag check in front of the park near GR.

There is no way for any guest to call security directly anywhere. CMs have multiple ways to get in touch with dispatch. At the resorts all you have to do is pickup any house or room phone and dial 0. From there the resort operator can radio in to dispatch a Security CM. If you need security more urgent than that dial 911, if your using any WDW phone you'll get ready creeks dispatch and they can dispatch security.
