More romantic - POR or CSR?

Granted, this is a matter of individual tastes, but which do you think is more romantic? Ive stayed at both, but not at CSR since 1995, and that was on business which felt like a very rushed trip where I didnt get to really experience the whole resort.

Just myself and spouse on this trip ..

Personally, I think the POR is much more romantic! There are nice trails to walk around, with flowers all around! And, there's the nice boat ride down the river to Downtown Disney - very romantic in the evening!

Relax at the pool with a margarita and some nachos. Take a dip in the largest hot tub on WDW property or take a walk to the white sandy beach and hang out in one of the hammocks.

It depends on what you think is romantic.
Taking walks under huge oak trees along the river, with lots of little places to sit. Or laying in a hammock on a beach. It depend on what you like, but POR is more quiet. My pick is POR.

Have never stayed at CSR- but can definitely tell you that POR was/is/can be romantic! My husband and I (then boyfriend) went on our first Disney World vacation together there in 2000. BEAUTIFUL to walk around at night holding hands along the Sassagoula. Great food court!

POR is much prettier in my opinion. Plus you can take a horse and carriage ride around the grounds, can you say romantic! On our last trip in June, we stayed at both, POR and CSR, we moved to CSR because my husband wanted to have a gym on premise. Well, we we're sorry we did move. CSR while nice, just does not have the same "charm" as POR. Also, remember the rooms at POR have all been recently refurbished and look so nice. (Especially the rooms in the Bayou section - we just loved our room there).

Our room at CSR looked very worn and the hallways in our building needed to be painted badly. I really found POR to be a much nicer, "fresh" feeling resort.

In any case, enjoy your trip!

Best,
Brando

After much research, my DH and I spent our 10th anniversary at POR- Alligator Bayour section. It was secluded, quiet, and romantic. We loved it! While I want to try every other resort WDW has to offer, my DH said he would love to go back there again next time...

I have stayed at both, I think POR is more romantic, just one more person voicing an opinion.

I was almost swayed by the beautiful photos of CSR in this thread, I've never stayed at CSR.

I vote for POR Riverside, it's lush, romantic and quiet. You feel like you are far away from the "real" world

Definitely CSR!! You'll feel like you are in Mexico. Beautiful grounds, quiet atmosphere. It is truely great! I can get oak trees back home but I can't get palm trees.

You said a mouth full. CSR is beautiful! We love every minute we spend at this resort. It just keeps us going back. CSR was rehabbed in 2004 and we know because we were there at the time.

Wow, I never realized how beautiful CSR is... we're getting ready for a trip to POR in November but we may have to go back in the spring and try out CSR!!!

We've stayed at both CSR and POR and we feel CSR is definitely more romantic. From the moment you enter the front door and see the beautiful fountain right throughout the whole resort, you just get a feel of being in another place other than the real world. Just look at the pictures above. Walk through the courtyards, swing on a hammock, take a dip in the pool ot get a massage. Its all good. CSR also has room service with a full menu. No problems here. Perfect place for you and your significant other :love2:

Well, it seems as though POR has the vote from the boards. I must admit however that Buzz's photos are REALLY Tempting me (great job on the site BTW). I am no more decided than before I started this thread.

Been to POR many times, but didnt know the Bayou had been refurbed recently. I love the atmosphere there. Just a bit torn as to whether to try CSR to experience something new - Tried and true POR vs. taking a chance w/something new CSR (?)

I also thought about POFQ, but I everytime I look at it now I cant help but to think of Katrina (maybe I am wacko).

We love CSR. We have never stayed at POR but have been over to visit and IMHO CSR wins!

We absolutrly loved CSR. If I were you I would give it a try. Then if you weren't happy, you could always ask them to move you over to POR.
