First question- I know how fastpass works, and I love it. In the states you can get a new fastpass every 2 hours even if you have not used your old fastpass ( get a FP for thunder mountain at 10:15- come back time is 13:30, but you can get another FP at 12:30) Can you do that here, or do you have to wait until after you use that FP to get another one? I am nervous about Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain.

If we are staying at Cheyenne, can we eat breakfast at Chef Mickey one morning? I saw something on the Disney site about only paying 13.50 E per person to "upgrade" to that breakfast. Is this right?

Also, I am nervous about breakfast times after reading other threads on here. Soem threads have said that they were not given an option on when to eat, we are definitely taking advantage of EMH, so we want to eat breakfast right at 7. Is this going to be an issue?

Do they sell hotel pins? We are big pin fans and these are great souvenirs.

Will it be easy to find good souvenirs for under 20 E? Even if it is in Paris and not Disney. By any chance do they have the 10 and under shop like they do in WDW?

Thank you so much, we are 16 days away from our first trip and everyone here has been so helpful

saying Chef Mickey do you mean Cafe Mickey? If so, you can have breakfast there, just pay for it.

You can get new fastpass after current expires.

we always choose 7 am breakfast as it's the best option. later hours tend to get crowded.

Yes

You shouldn't have a problem, but they don't have anything like the shop you described as far as I know.

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

its the same system at DLP - you can get a new fastpass from the start of the fastpass ticket window you already have, or 2 hours after that, whichever is the sooner :)

its now 16 euros per person, adult or child, to have breakfast at Cafe Mickey. I personally don't think its good value for money, I'd rather pay for lunch or dinner at Cafe Mickey instead, and pay to have breakfast at the Disneyland Hotel one morning.

it doesn't matter what timeslot you get for breakfast at your hotel, you can go at 7am and you'll be seated straightaway - its the quietest and most pleasant time to go :).

yes they do sell hotel pins.

You can find souvenirs for under 20 euros quite easily, for example a lot of the crystal/glass jewellery etc, christmas shop decorations, pins, keyrings, stationery etc etc.

Theres no specific store like at WDW though.

Isila yes, I meant Cafe Mickey, I am still thinking of DL in Cali.

DLpDaft- you have been amazing in helping me plan our trip. hmmm... I had not thought of that. We will check the DLH breakfast menu to see which one we would like better. If we eat at Inventions for breakfast, can we see the characters that they have in the morning there, or no because we are not staying there?

yes you can - you can meet the characters at the entrance to the restaurants at the DLH on your way in for breakfast, then on your way out, and then possibly you might find a couple of them downstairs in the lobby too :).

I think you need to wait for your FP to expire before you can get another one. But don't be too worried about Space Mountain. You can ride this during EMH and to be honest it's not as busy as it used to be.

It's not an upgrade as such - you just don't get your hotel breakfast and pay whatever the going rate is at Cafe Mickey in the Village. Sorry I don't know costs.

Should be no problem getting this time slot.

Yes, usually in the hotel shop :thumbsup2

Yes, lots of souvenirs under 20E. My favourites are the small snow globes.

Hope you have a lovely time :lovestruc

For some reason I didn't see DLP Dafts response before :confused3 sorry ;)

We are staying at the sequoia next week for our first trip to dlp - re breakfast are we given a time when we check in? If so do we HAVE to stick to that time or can we go down whenever we want? I would prefer not to be set to a time with 2 small children.

Our first trip we stayed at the Sequoia and twice upgraded to Cafe Mickey (it was 15€ per person)...and had we not payed for it ahead of time, we wouldn't have gone back for another. :sad2: it was incredibly loud, crowded, kids rushing to the characters rather than waiting for them to come to your table...and the food is just ok. I think it's supposed to be along the lines of an American breakfast? But the eggs seem powdered, soggy bacon...can't say we'd ever do it again.

DLP has loads of pins...there's a shop on Main Street (can't recall the name, right hand side) and they have a great selection...they also carry a large stock of Vinylmations. I think that's DS's favorite store. ;) he collects bother and they have lots to choose from.

Aside from a few t-shirts, an ornaments and some pins and Vinyls, we don't find much in the way of souvenirs...I don't think DLP has as large a selection as perhaps the US parks...and they tend to repeat in each store. I've taken to ordering stuff I know my DS would love from the Disney Store (the US site has 40% right now, BTW ;) ) and surprising him with something every morning, rather than buying park stuff he doesn't really want. Just an idea. :)

Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure you'll have a great time! :goodvibes

Yes, you're supposed to stick to the time you're given/chosen...but I've seen many people show up late/early and still be allowed in. We try going as early as possible though, a bit more quiet and not as busy.

Do you know what the different time slots are for breakfast and can we change this whilst we are checking in?

you choose for each day when you are checking in, from whatever timeslots are available to you each day. The timeslots are subject to availability. They start from 7am.

7am to 7.45am ish is the quietest and most pleasant time to go for breakfast in the onsite hotels, so if you don't get a timeslot for these times you can still go at that time and you'll be seated with no problems.

If you want to go later you may be queueing to get into the restaurant for breakfast, regardless of what your timeslot says.

Thanks, not sure we'd be ready for breakfast at that time on holiday but we'll see. I'd prefer to just go when we get up at whatever time, don't mind a bit of a wait.
I thought the 7am slot would be popular with the early magic hours - or do people usually have breakfast after 10 when the magic hours have finished?

I think because you're already left your hotel and gone through the Village etc down to the parks for EMH most people tend to not want to walk back to their hotel after EMH, they want to explore the parks and get fastpasses/quiet rides done etc - and the onsite hotels (except the DLH) stop serving breakfast at 10.30am I think (the DLH restaurants stay open for breakfast until 11am).

At the Sequoia Lodge you can ask for breakfast in the park instead of at your hotel, and the later timeslots are the best ones for this (ie 9.15am or 9.30am). This isn't always available, its subject to availability, but if you're not an early eater this might work out better for you than early breakfast before EMH. If you're interested in this, ask at check-in at your hotel.

Thanks that does sound like more our thing! We could do some of the emh first then eat :) if we did this where in the park do you eat and is the food nice?
Would the hotel not know in advance if this was possible? We go on Sunday. Does it depend on hotel capacity etc?
I'm thinking about paying for breakfast at the dlh one of the days but not decided for sure yet.
Do you know if we will see any characters around the sequoia hotel either at breakfast or throughout the day?

you can't book the breakfast in the park, or breakfast timeslots at your hotel, in advance. You have to wait until you check in.

DLP decides which restaurant they open each morning for breakfast in the park, you don't get to choose. Its typically either Plaza Gardens, Chalet au Marionette, or the Bella Notte. Its the same standard continental breakfast that you get at the Sequoia Lodge.

All the onsite hotels have characters in the lobby/designated photo spots every morning from 8am until around 11am. You don't have to be a guest of the hotel to visit the public areas of any onsite hotel and see the characters there (this includes the Disneyland Hotel).

Thanks for your help as always :)
It's nice to feel prepared before we go. On check in would they know the availability re eating in the park on each of our 4 days or is it something I would have to ask them every day?
Do they mention on check in if we want to do this (if its available) or do we have to mention it?)

at the Sequoia Lodge they will probably ask you if you'd like to do it, but if they don't, ask them. Sometimes they'll know for the entire duration of your stay whats available, sometimes they'll ask you to check with reception the day before for the next mornings breakfast in the park (we did this once at the Santa Fe and it worked really well, we popped to reception in the evening on our return from the parks and always got the slot of our choice for breakfast in the park the following day).

Its all subject to availability.
