More questions About Magic Key

I am upgrading my tickets to a Magic Key, and have a few questions. If they have been answered, I apologize.

For existing key holders, do you know:
1 - How far out are the Magic Key reservations shown?
2 - Are there currently any reservations available in Dec, Jan, or Feb?

Thank you!

Thank you! That second link is exactly what I'm looking for!

The first link is also pretty much the same thing, but you can look by pass tier type and it's missing the hotel and ticketed guest calendars. I keep both links open myself.

There has been discussion in another thread that it seems cancelled reservations stay as the pass tier type they were cancelled from and only show for that pass type (this is just a theory some have presented). The second link seems to vary for people which tier it shows for the AP calendar. For me it always seems to match Dream availability. But I have a Dream so that's ideal for me.

1) 90 days
2) none for February are open yet. Reservations currently only go to January 19 for passholders. January 20 will open tomorrow morning.

December is starting to book up. Currently no weekends available and DCA start only.

These are the public calendars you can check:

The 90 day reservations window is a big part of what’s giving people pause on upgrading to Magic key— regular ticket holders have a 120 day window… and have much better availability in the shorter term… with at least some reservations available as little as a week or two out. Dream key seems to be worst with almost no weekends available and only T-Th & a few Mondays showing up when on the regular ticket calendar you have a lot of weekends and virtually any weekday you could want… 😕
I saw a breakdown not too long ago that showed that unless you were expecting to go 15 days in the next year, you’re better off doing regular tickets than a Dream pass. (especially if you get them thru a reseller that discounts them).

I suppose that could be the case if you weren't parking a car and weren't planning on buying merchandise. Personally, I can save money with having a Dream key if I only visit 8 days.

I'm going back and forth on whether or not to upgrade from my 5 day PH to a key...we'd be going 4 days in december, then 2 in march...I live in Oregon so popping down isnt as easy as it is for in state folks

Are you using that 5 day PH for your December trip or right now? If it's right now, check that the dates you want to go in December to see if there's reservation availability for Magic Keys. 11 days is just over break even so it'd work out if there's reservations. If you're planning to use the 5 day PH in December and then do 2 days in March, you'd break even with an Enchant Key but not a Believe Key.

If there's a chance you'll cancel/shorten those two trips or there isn't reservation availability for your dates in December, then it doesn't make sense to do Keys.

I'd only get one if I thought I'd use it again after March obv

I did a search on a somewhat related question - hope I don't offend by dropping it here in this thread.
We are going mid Dec with 3 day hoppers hoping to convert to Enchant Key. Tempted to do it first day to get the discounts, but concerned about getting in the parks on our last two days if my reservations with the hopper don't exactly transfer over to the Key. It is Mon-Thursday visit.

Reservations for passholders are currently completely sold out for the month of December. Disney themselves had been recommending not upgrading until you are done for the day on your last day.

While I have seen reports that reservations did transfer for some, it definitely does not seem to be the rule. Only the exception. And it doesn't always hold even in that case (some said reservations appeared to transfer, but then dropped off/disappeared on their own after a day or two after upgrading).

I wouldn't personally risk it unless something changes between now and then saying held ticket reservations will transfer. There's no guarantee that reservations for passholders will open during your trip either. They do seem to open availability the night before now so far, but I wouldn't rely on that.

I have these links in a Disney folder on my iPhone so I can see them easily.
