More Points???

Okay, it looks like we are going to purchase more points. DH and I will be watching the video again tomorrow to decide whether or not to purchase more points at BCV or one of the other resorts.

I believe the current price per point is $80 but what are the incentives? Is DVC still doing Magical Beginnings for BCV, HH & VB? If we were to purchase more points now through DVC what are the current incentives? If we had a June use year would we still have points for use in 2002? Could we bank them for next year? We will probably add on either 25 or 50 more points. I want to purchase before the prices go up in December. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Annmarie

Hello - We just added 100 more points at the BCV. We were offered the Magical Beginnings @ $5 a point. We did not think that was a good value. After many conflicting statements by Member Services and our Guide, we were finally allowed to bank our points. We have a February use year. One of the persons at MS said we could bank them all once we settled on Sept. 18th.Then when we called to bank them, we were told we could only bank half. After "computer problems" and then "let me check with my supervisor" stuff, I was told to call my original guide to discuss the conflicting statements. I said....why don't YOU call and discuss this? Just let me know who has the correct answer.
Well, after yet another check with the supervisor, I was allowed to bank them all. Whew! Now back to your question. Yes, you will get whatever points you purchase for this year (to bank or use or sell to them for $5 a point or sell privately).

We are in the process of adding on with DVC at BCV. We also have a Feb. use year. After talking with our Guide and his checking with his supervisor, we are allowed to bank 100% of our points. Are you paying maintenance fees from July 1 when BCV opened or from your addon date? Are you paying dues from July or from your add on date?

VB MB is $15, but its that high for a reason, they can't sell those points. Most people realize buying VB points with the intention of using them at WDW is a bad idea. Only those that fall prey to DVC sales staff lies about home resort not mattering buy there with the intention of using them at WDW.

Buying VB with the intention of staying at VB often is fine.

Besdies, the dues ar the highest at any DVC resort and will negate any savings pretty quickly.

Wow! Did you just get to bank all your addon points or did you have to whine, plead, ask politely, etc? They sure did go round and round with us.
With our original BVC purchase in May, we began to pay maintenance fees as of July 1.
The addon settled in Sept. Our first monthly dues payment is November 1st and is not retroactive.
I can't believe that we added on so quickly - goodness, we aren't even planning a trip until next May. I wouldn't mind a few Vero Beach points too. Hmmmm. Sandie

We haven't gone home yet either but DH thinks more points are definitely needed and who am I to disagree? LOL!! I left a vm for our guide. Looks like we will be purchasing more points at BCV.
