More Point Transfer Questions

Once a point trasnfer is credited to your account are they considered your points - can you bank them into the next year? Also how long does it take to make the transfer?

I am an April use year so I can bank points through the end of this month. Looking at a 2012 trip but would need additional points to make it happen. If I can find someone to transfer the points would I be able to get the transfer done and bank the points before the end of the month?

Yes, transferred points may be banked. MS has been allowing transferred points to be banked beyond their normal deadline, but that could change so it might be best to look for a transfer of points that will be valid for the trip you wish to take if the banking deadline is an issue.

At this time most DVC member (all but those with a Dec. Use Year) are in their 2011 Use Year - so you could accept a transfer into your 2011 and/or 2012 Use Years. If the trip you need the transferred points for is after April 1, 2012 it might be wise just to look for a transfer of 2012 points into your 2012 Use Year and they won't need to be banked at all.
