Some of the tulips I have planted around. I have big plans for that barrel this summer. Notice my dopey dog? She's always sneaking into pictures!

This is a dark-eyed Junco nest in my neighbors fushia basket. I've never seen a nest with eggs in it before. Appropriate for Mothers Day!

How cool! I love the nest....:D Thanks for posting all these pics....:D

What a great shot to capture! How long ago was that? Have the baby birds been hatched yet? :)

Cute puppy!

That was taken last week. The mama is still sitting on them and causing a racket when my neighbor tries to water. I'll try to get a picture after they hatch.

Great shot! Was the mommy bird squawking at you when you took the photo? Or was she a proud mommy knowing her "babies" would be displayed on the internet! :p

Your dopey doggie is a cutie too! Your tulips are beautiful! What else is in that barrel and what big plans do you have for it for the summer?

The eggs hatched! I saw my neighbor today and she said the babies are tiny. I'll get a picture posted soon. I took the egg picture while the basket was down for watering. The mama bird was making all sorts of noise from a bush nearby.

Tulirose: I'm going to plant the barrel for the container contest. Don't know what I'm going to put in it yet though. Besides the tulips the yellow/green plant in front is lamium. I can't remember what else I have in there. I had Black-eyed Susan planted in the back of it last year but it didn't survive for some reason.

Love the tulips. Being a lover of nature I get excited when I see things like a birds nest in flower pots.

A fun story. On Tuesday night DH ad I were invited to DD and SIL new home for dinner. This is the home my DH and his family built some 40 something years ago. Little did we know this was a celebration. Now I've been to lots of celebrations, some sane, some not so sane. This was my first hatching celebration. My DD has a Blue Crowded Conure and this was the 5 anniversary of his hatch day. When Mary told us this was Williams hatch day DH and I looked at each other puzzled. OK I ask it "what the heck is hatch day" It's Williams Birthday, Oh. "Gee Mary had I known I would have taken a gift".

That's a great story. What kind of bird is that? I can't wait to take a peak at the babies next door. I've never seen a nest or babies other than in pictures. I've read about it in Birds and Blooms and always been envious of the people that get to experience the whole process from eggs to leaving the nest.

Great pics, thanks for posting them. Ilove your tulips. I never knew what lamium looked like. The baby birds have a lovely home and just in time for Mother's Day. Your furbaby is a cutie too.

Your dog is such a cutie - what a sweet face!

The tulips are lovely, I just love the really long stemmed ones.:D
