More Park Reservations than Days On Ticket?

I am buying my tickets through a package with an 8-night reservation. Because I don't expect to go to the parks on our arrival or departure day, I'm thinking that I only need 7 days of tickets. But I have park reservations for all 9 days just in case, and because the tickets don't need to be used on consecutive days. I figured that if I did end up going to a park on arrival day I could always go to Guest Services and add a day or 2 of tickets, correct?

But, more importantly, once I pay for the package and link the tickets will they cancel 2 of my park reservations because I have 9 reservations and only 7 days worth of tickets? I would think not because they don't know that I will use all 7 tickets before the 8th day, but I am paranoid. Hopefully this question makes sense.

Thanks!

Yes, I made them after buying the package. I will payoff the package tomorrow and then should have tickets to link.

Your tickets must already be linked to your MDE, because if they were not linked you would not have been able to make park reservations at all.

The question is, how did you make reservations for 9 days when you have only 7 day tickets? Do you have old tickets on your account that would cover the extra 2 days, or all 9 days? Or does your package actually have 9 day tickets in it?

I assume you were able to make 9 days of park pass reservations because you have a package with 9-day tickets. If your package only had 7-day tickets, you would only have been able to make 7 days of park pass reservations even though you'll be at Disney 9 days, including your arrival and departure days. The number of days you can make park pass reservations for is limited to the number of days you have tickets for. I suspect that if you change your package to 7-day tickets, the system will drop your park pass reservations for the last two days. However, I'm not sure. If you don't want that to happen, I suggest you drop two days of park pass reservations before you change your package.

Yes, like PP said above, you can only make park reservations for the number of days of tickets you have. In addition, you do not have to pay off a vacation package in full to link it to your MDE account.

My package had 9 tickets but I a
Modified it to drop 2 days.

Ohhh, then you need to remove the two days of park reservations that you don't want ASAP. It's only a matter of time before Disney drops two days for you. But your tickets are definitely already linked to your account; otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to make these reservations in the first place.

You will need to cancel 2 of the park reservations, before WDW automatically does it (which would be your last 2 since they don’t know your plans).
