As I promised a while back, here are some panoramas I just finished stitching tonight from my 12/11/04 cruise - all inspired by Grumbo. Anyways, you guys are probably about had enough of my photos - but I'm having fun. :-)

Please let me know your favorite and why. I'm going to have a large print made of one of these to hang on my wall, so your feedback is appreciated.

The originals are very large - over 12-14 megapixels - so I've reduced the size on these. A full size print of the first one, for example, would be approximately 2 feet wide.

I'll try to post my panos from St Thomas tomorrow or Wednesday in this thread.

I don't have any complaints about them at all...I think they're rather cool!
My faves are the very first and last ones! The water is so beautiful there. :flower:

Sam,

I must say that these are very good. Wish I had the eye that you have.

Of the photos, the few that stand out

1) The Lion King shot
2) The B&W of the tree
3) There was one stairs ( I can't find the link to your photos and going from memory).

I love your pictures! My vote is split between the first and the last!

I just read your post-we voted the same! Great minds, eh?

AS IF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam,
My vote is either the first one (the clouds in that one make more of a seashell look across the entire sky) or the last one (dimentions of the ship vs. the sign and the clouds give a "fish-eye" appearance to the picture). However, I bet a St. Thomas pic of the island will get my vote :D

Looks like its unanimous!

I love these! Please, can someone give me a link to the others?? I can't get enough of really great shots.

What type of camera and lens are you using? Those are great!
Please do post a link to you pics.

Nikon D100
lenses: 17-55/2.8 DX, 50/1.4, 85/1.8, 70-200/2.8 - the 17-55 and 50 are my favorites
a good steady tripod and a panoramic head

Some of my "regular" shots are here: http://www.pbase.com/srmchan/disney_cruise_line

But you won't find the panoramas there. I'm still working on them. (I have St Thomas panorama's left to do.)

Wow, wow, wow Sam. Just fabulous shots. Please, more! I had to fast forward thru the show pics as this is our first cruise and I want to experience those first hand. I loved the night time ones on the ship. Well done!

Great work. I like the update to the first one and I love St. Thomas ones. I've really enjoyed all your pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Great shots. I have a question. We head to WDW in a week or so and want to take some pan shots there. Care to share your secrets? How many shots, overlap, etc.? We have a Canon digital Rebel. Also any hints on fireworks photos?

Thanks and again great shots.

Bruce

For good panorama or fireworks photos you need a steady tripod for best results. Gitzo and Bogen both have a good reputation.

Hand-held panoramas are possible but - again - for best results you need a tripod. There's a great tutorial on panos here: http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/tutorials/pano/index.html I use this company's panorama gear.

I don't know how to shoot fireworks, but I suspect it involves a long exposure hence my comment on tripods. Try a google search or check out dpreview.com.

Thanks for the link. I've talked to some people who suggest the bulb setting so will have to play. I am taking tripod so hopefully I can get some nice evening/night shots as well as pan pics. I hope to post when we return.
