More owner's lockers questions

Sure have! The lists are great! I printed out all the posts with packing items mentioned on Tuesday and then compiled all the items on a pad of paper while I waited for my daughter at dance that night, then input them all in excel where they are now happily (and OCD-ly) in alphabetical order by area (kitchen, clothes, household and HBA).

OMG, we are two of a kind. That's how I organized my regular packing list before OL. Since trying to decide if I should join, I did take one list and added it with mine in excel and sorted alphabetically to see what I could store in an OL. But there is just SO much more OCD in me to put into this project before we actually fill it.

I also signed up during the promotion. By the way John, thanks for hooking up with Mary and working that deal out. The money I saved made shopping at the Dollar Store great. I did the same thing and printed out other people's lists and made my own. I hit both dollar stores in town and got 80% of my list taken care of. One trip to Target(French sounding) and I should be ready for our 1st trip home. I have all the bags still in the back of my car and when I pack them in the suitcase I will be putting them in the excel file for safe keeping. I will have to ask my excel handy DH to help me alphabetize the list.

It was nice to read that I was not alone in signing up for OL the other night. I am so excited that I took the plunge! Silly question, when I hear about some of the things that are going in them, would a regular size pillow fit or would it take up all the room? So far I have come up with:

Ponchos
Water/drink holder thing
Fanny packs
My DH's yard for his beer from Epcot!


Im sure I will come up with many more things to add besides toiletries.

Yes a regular size pillow fits. If it is a really hard pillow it will take up about ¼ - ⅕ of the depth of the locker. If it is a softer pillow and will compress easily, it will take up less depth. Have you tried out the new pillows in the villas? They are awfully nice. Not super hard or super soft. I may not need my down pillow anymore!

Don't forget that your Dashboard (what we call the My Account section of the OL site) has a confidential on-line inventory function where you can create, edit and print a list of the things you keep (or plan to keep) in your Locker. Just click on "edit locker' and you'll find it.

I haven't found a way to alphabetize that online inventory. I find it easier to check if it is alphabetized. Got any suggestions? Currently I am using a database document instead for that reason.

I was thinking the same thing. I alphabetize everything...even my shopping lists. That's why I'm doing my list first in excel, because I don't think there is a way to do it online at OL. If there is, that would be great. But I can work around that; besides being alphabetical, I like the list by "room" in the villa...easier to pack and unpack.

I've talked about this so much in the last few days, my DH asked this morning (as I was following him into the bathroom, still talking ) "Are you going to spend our whole vacation playing with that box?" Hey...maybe.

The more I look at the list of what we bring on vacation or COULD bring, the more I'm loving this. Things as simple as a vase, for supermarket-bought flowers. I have forced forsythia on my kitchen table now, and it makes me every time I walk into the room.
