More on glitchy online check-in

8 days in to my 10-day online check-in window, with many daily failed attempts to do online check-in--here's last night's update.

I called the number they list (for the second time) and this time the tech walked me through the process...he confirmed that going in to take out the last four digits of your zip code is a good idea...that helps some online check-in processes go through.

Anyway...he repeated several times that some are going through, but many aren't. Mine didn't (again), even with the tech walking me through it.

Then, this morning, I got an email from Disney encouraging me to use online check-in...I clicked through, and noticed the email used a different confirmation number than the one I have through MS. So I tried it. It didn't work either.

Finally, the Disney tech told me that it would be helpful to them if we told Disney about the problems...he says they're well aware of it, but that member/customer "complaints" might help...he said just to say something at the front desk when I check in when I get there...

So...the ongoing saga of glitchy online check-in continues...and that's "the news from the front" as of last night...

Can't wait to get there Sunday...don't even care all that much about having to check in on site!

Well...an A+ for effort to you. I arrive at OKW this Sunday. I tried online check-in at the 10 day mark and it didn't work. I gave up immediately. :lmao:

When I started the online check-in process, the confirmation number was already embedded in the space for the confirmation number. It was a different number than that on my paper confirmation. Sounds like you had a similar experience. I thought it was odd, and that's pretty much the reason I didn't pursue online check-in any further. I thought maybe something was screwed up and I didn't want to make things worse.

I did online check in yesterday for my reservation that starts 11/23 and had no problem. I even received an email confirmation that it went through. I went through my account on the DVC website. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. Good luck to both of you. Just think in a few days we all will be in sunny florida and these frustrations will be a distant memory.

with so much going on in the background inpreparation for their new integrated system it is hard to know if the that is the problem roll on the new year:wizard:

And yes, I've tried absolutely everything I can think of (including all the suggestions on the various threads here)...going thru dvcmember.com, going thru disney reservations, using Disney tech services; deleting and reentering all the info; using the info already embedded; adding my credit card and not adding it, adding my phone number and not adding it...nothing has worked for me.

As noted earlier (I'm probably getting boring by now!), it's not that big a deal. I love the feeling of "it's real/it's happening/I'm going to Disney" that I get when I do online check-in, which is probably why I keep trying...but I know I can check in in person and that it'll take only about 2 extra minutes...really, of all the problems we could be having, this one is pretty minor...

But having had to battle back frustration (and worry that it's my computer as opposed to Disney's system), I thought I'd share that Disney knows about the problem; that the system works just fine for some folks and doesn't work for others...

Happy holiday and may we all have a magical wonderful time whether we're at Disney or elsewhere for Thanksgiving!

Did you try using a different web browser?
 
I have been using on-line check-in since it was first available. We have never had any problems. Perhaps we have just been lucky, but our room has usually been ready when we arrived, no matter what time of day. A couple of years ago, we had a very early morning flight with 2 young, cranky kids in tow. We arrived at OKW at about 9AM and were thrilled that our 2 BR villa was ready. We stayed at BCV early this November. When we arrived at about 11AM, we didn't even have to go into the lobby. A cast member greeted us outside with our check-in folder and our room keys. Our room was ready. We couldn't believe the efficiency. I know this would not have happened without on-line check-in. During our stay at BCV, we decided to extend our vacation and were able to reserve a one bedroom villa at SSR. We used on-line check-in again. We arrived at SSR at about 9AM, went out for bkfst, and got our call at 10AM that our villa was ready. Never had a problem with on-line check in, and in almost every case, our room was ready, no matter how early in the day we arrived. We have a trip scheduled for late January at BWV. We will see how that goes, but have been very happy with on-line check-in thus far. I know for this past stay, the reservation # had changed, but the new reservation # was already on the on-line check-in site. We have just never had the issues that everyone else seems to have.
 
I could never use the online check-in for our trip several weeks ago. I never even got to the screen where you enter information. I always got the, "Your reservation cannot be retrieved at this time, please try again later." :confused3
I checked in the "old-fashioned" way and all was well in "the World". :goodvibes
 
An update - I just went through the online check in (for the first time, yay I'm excited! :goodvibes) and everything worked fine. I didn't run into any problems or have to go back to "fix" anything at any point. I even noticed that the address they had listed was for our previous address (we moved 3 months ago) I was able to change the address to our new address with no issue either.

So, it appears to be working at least some times. :)
 
I tried today & couldn't get the on line check in to work. Nice to hear others are having luck. I'll try again tomorrow.
So looking forward to our 1st stay at SSR!
 
Leaving in just under 12 hours (just finishing up packing)...tried my last try...no go. Oh, well...as DVC told me in an email, the system isn't working for some folks; it is working for others...and I can check in when I get there.

No worries.

SSR here I come...I SO can't wait!

I am here (SSR) and happy as can be...in person check-in is really not a big deal...I doubt I took more than 2 minutes longer than I would have had I succeeded w/online check-in (which I kept trying to do all the way up til 7:30 this morning when I left for the airport--failed every time!)...

I got "the perfect" one bedroom...I'd asked for Grandstand ground floor and got it...our villa is directly across from the pool...I couldn't be happier...AND it was ready when I check in...first time that has happened in the last 5 or 6 trips!

It's so great to be here...the resort area is pretty empty-appearing, but even during busy times SSR doesn't look/feel crowded during the day...right now I'm trying to decide between heading over to Epcot and swimming...it's a bit chilly for swimming, but the idea does sound appealing and there aren't many people in the pool...on the other hand, I do love Epcot!

Almost no Christmas decorations up here yet...some tubs of poinsettas at Carriage House and that's it...but as I recall, SSR doesn't decorate til T-giving night...

For those who can't get the online check-in system to work, no worries...not at all a big deal to check in on site...hope you get as much pixie dust as I did in the villas you get!

If I rented points from a friend, can I still use on-line check-in through the regular WDW site? I've tried with her last name and my last name, but neither seem to be working. Help, please.
