More MagicBands for split stay?

I might be just reading MDE wrong, but this time we're going for about 6 days, splitting our stay between Coronado and BC. I see two separate options to customize our MagicBands, with it saying "Quantity: 2" for each resort. Does that mean it's giving us the option to have more than one MB a piece?

And I hate to mention this, but if so, is it possible to double up on FP+? I would imagine Disney would've seen this workaround before and thought of a way to stop it. Just curious though.

Thanks for any help!!!

When I did a split stay I got two sets of bands. We even did the DDP and we ended up with 2 sets of mugs.

You're entitled to one band per person for EACH separate room reservation. You can decline them on one reservation if you only want one set. And no, you can't double up on FPs because you have multiple bands. It would take multiple MDX accounts with bands and tickets attached to each to do that. I have 36 bands and still get the same number of FPs as everybody else.

Fast passes are linked to a ticket, not a room, or a magic band. You can go and stay at a Disney hotel, and if you do not have a valid park ticket, you can not make any FP reservations.

If you have a valid park ticket, you can make a FP for any day you want, within 30 days, with no reservation at all.
If you have a room reservation, it gets moved to 60 days (for the dates you are staying).

Magic Bands merely tell the Disney computer systems who you are, nothing more (which then in turn pulls up your entitlements, such as FP, or dining reservation, or if you have access to a room).

And when customizing them, you can now select the option to not receive them. (Thankfully, since I have like 20!)

If you open a second MDE account and link the second set of bands to it you can supposedly use the second set for in-park fastpasses. A loophole until Disney decides to close it. Not sure of the logistics of it but search the Theme Parks forum for it.

You can probably decline one set and use the same one for both stays. either way, youll be able to use the same one the whole time

Thanks for all the replies and info! Not sure if we'll go for two sets since we were planning on buying MBs off of ebay and then using the ones from Disney to customize ourselves. Regardless, all helpful.

Thanks again!:)

You've peaked my curiosity
Why are you buying a set off eBay when you can get 2 sets for free?

I'm guessing the Ebay bands have graphics or are limited edition. I'd ask the seller to verify that they have never been linked to an account, because once they are, they can't be unlinked.

Second this!
I just double checked. I can not reassign any of my (21...geez) magic bands to anyone else.

Also, customize away. Unless you physically destroy the thing, they are pretty hard to ruin.

I'm sure that's possible but the part where I got doubly confused was OP said they wanted to buy bands off eBay and then customize the ones they get from Disney

And I'm with you, I'd want some sort of assurance they can be used by me. I personally don't trust much of anything bought off eBay. If it can be counterfeit or otherwise used prior to me I assume it has been. Too many scammers out there

We're interested in buying off of eBay or the Disney Store online to get ones with specific designs. In terms of the standard MB, since they just come with our reservation we thought we'd just order them anyway and personalize them (paint or whatever) and if we don't like how they turned out, we'd get ones online.

Makes sense. I hope you can get bands you like. They can be fun to decorate.

If a band has been linked to a person, it cannot be transferred. Avoid ebay if you want to use it at WDW.
