Sorry if any of these questions are repeats but the search doesn't seem to be working for me. . . :confused3

Anyway, here they are:

1. Does Winn-Dixie or Publix Supermarkets sell beer? I only ask because my DBIL is making me, he says that different States have different rules about alcohol and I don't drink much so I've never even noticed beer at our supermarket (they do sell here in PA).

2. Can we substitute a side dish if what is offered is not to our liking (I've read so much about how bad the rice is that is offered with the lobster, that I figured I would ask for a baked-potato, can't do much damage there ;)

3. Is it really necessary to book the snorkel equipment and beach mats online for CC, or are there enough we can wait until we get to CC. (I'm not sure my DBIL is going to join my DSis and I so I don't want to book them and then he doesn't want to use them, not really sure about my DSis, she has rheumethoid arthritis and depends how she feels on that day whether she can go snorkeling or not.)

4. My DBIL wants to get beer and he prefers bottled beer, I've read that people put them in a soft-sided cooler and check them at the port, how do you avoid the bottles from breaking? Or do you lug them around with you until the cabin is available?

5. What's ingredients are in a Konk Kooler?

Again, sorry if for repeat questions. :thumbsup2

Publix in Florida did a few months ago (May) so fairly sure they do

Yes just ask to they don't mind. You can also swap sauces on steaks or other items like that if needed (obviously not in things like Rissotto but when the sauce is just on top its fine)

Nope. There was loads available when we went. Get there early and more chance of getting it.

4. My DBIL wants to get beer and he prefers bottled beer, I've read that people put them in a soft-sided cooler and check them at the port, how do you avoid the bottles from breaking? Or do you lug them around with you until the cabin is available?

I tend to pack them in to a case wrapped in towels / clothes (but put them in plastic bags first)

5. What's ingredients are in a Konk Kooler?

light and dark rum, orange juice, passion fruit and coconut cream

Thank you Gismo for all your replies. I was thinking of taking bubble wrap but your idea of clothes would be better! And I would definitely put them in a plastic baggie, gotta look for the right size. Thanks again. :thumbsup2

1. Yes, Publix and Winn Dixie sell beer/wine.

2. I hope so!

3. Bring your own gear--it's cheap right now at Walmart and Target if your driving. I think it might be a pain if your flying. My DH got ours a couple of weeks ago and it's nice to know that only our feet, mouth and eye's will be the first ones in ours. I know...DCL cleans them, but I'm funny about it.

4. Have a good time!! We'll be up there in a couple of weeks in PA. :cool1:

most all grocery stores in Florida sell wine and beer...many have a sep liquor store as well. (Publix does not)

Last December we didn't book the snorkel equipment until the night before at guest services....I think you may be safe with that one but the more popular things tend to book up.

#5 - Instead of Konk Coolers ( good ) ask for a Rum Rudder (ohmigod),no flaming allowed, it is different than a Rum Runner ( twice as strong, thanks Thomas from Jamaica ) and only mixed at the Serenity Bay bar from my experience. Ouch!

BTW - Cheeseburger in Paradise is on the tape loop there and plays every 48 minutes.... second stool from the right and straight on till boarding......
