More Jambo Rooms Unavailable December

I wonder if you should be talking to someone higher up than the CM you are currently dealing with. You had a room you wanted and now it is being taken away due to resort refurbishment (and one can only guess how many other members have gotten the same call). They offered to move you to Kidani standard view. But where did they get that room since Kidani 1BRs, both standard and savanna view, have been shown as full for the second week of December for at least two months? That indicates to me they are "finding" that room to switch you to via DVD or DVCMC offering to provide a Kidani 1BR from cash inventory (and undoubtedly finding them the same way for other members who are being screwed the same way). They should be able to find Kidani or Jambo savanna view, or 1BRs at other resorts, such as BWV or BRV, via the same cash inventory method, but apparently the person you are dealing with has no authority to get something else from cash inventory that would cost more points unless you pay the points. Higher level managers should be able to waive that.

On the phone with Member Services now, our one bedroom standard that we've had booked since the 11 month window for the second week of December is now unavailable and they need to move us. This is a big birthday trip and I know things happen but I'm not thrilled right now. The only offer they have is Kidani and I am not a fan. :( Not sure what we are going to do now.
How can they do that? Did someone with more clout disrupt your plans?

Great advice. Someone screwed you. Please don't report me for my word. What the heck is going on. If u inconvenience a guest offer more to make it up to you. No not a fast pass ... How about 4 signature dinning reservation s including tip.

Go get them. Please let us know. I think in a previous life I was a lawyer or a screamer.

While still in the midst of being ticked, your post did make me smile as I must of said that about 100 times between yesterday and today :)

So an update, after sending one email yesterday and a very sternly worded email this morning that pointed out that unless the whole fifth floor was closed, since standard rooms are scattered, I'd like to know why my reservation was chosen and what would have happened had I not called back. I also pointed out the Supervisor I spoke with said I had to decide as I no longer had a room.

Got a call about an hour ago and a different supervisor said she worked with the resort partners and was able to secure a one bedroom pool or garden view at Boardwalk. I did happen to notice yesterday these were available for cash. And unlike the Supervisor I spoke with yesterday, DVC today said they would not charge me the extra points, they would give them to us for this stay, but it would negate the extra one hundred dollar credit they were going to give us. I was fine with that. Interestingly, she did not say it would negate the extra FP that they promised. We will see about those when the time comes.

So it semi worked out, would I rather be at Jambo, absolutely as it is my favorite. But this does put us close to the two parks we will probably spend the most time in. Thank you everyone for your advice!

I wanted to know where the heck they pulled Kidani from as well. I've been stalking the site for different days and knew that had been unavailable as well. Unless they had an inkling this would happen and set aside some of the rooms.

Very cool. They shouldn't go back on their word regarding resort credit and fast passes.

Pettyness on Disney part taking back resort credit and fast passes. Baloney. Man up Disney.

Hopefully they will still give the fastpasses as there was no mention of that.

I was shut out at 11 months for the 2nd week of December for a value studio at Jambo house and it NEVER made sense to me that it was only affecting the value STUDIOS. Now my dilemma is 3 nights showed up for a value studio last week for 12/7 - 12/10 and [after the room getting initially taken showed back up] I booked it with a WL set up for the last 4 nights. I had already sent off a frustrated email before I was able to actually get it the second time around. :cutie: After reading this, I am now concerned that there actually isn't availability; it was a glitch, and now I am out the first 3 nights of my vacation since I dropped those standard view studio nights for the value studio to save points. :headache: DVC really needs to get it together.

Since they seem to have added value studios back, I'd think you might have a better chance of those staying than the standards. They would know (hopefully) if they will be finished with the corridor that houses the values, whereas the standards are all over the 5th floor.

Unfortunately, there are some of us who really like Jambo over Kidani.

I also like Jambo House better than Kidani. I like the food court, the pool and the bus stop even though it is after Kidani.
OP - I am happy they were able to get the room situation sorted out. I like BWV but there is something about Jambo House lobby at Christmas that BWV just does not compare. The $100 credit they took back when they offered up Kidani should not have been taken back-why ? Well because they inconvenienced YOU and YOUR plans. There is no way they should take back the FP either. In truth, if it was me- I would say 3FPs per person per day AND I would haved asked for CCV or BRV since they still have tht lodgy feel (but you like the location of BWV so your location is good for you). I would not have wanted the $100 credit because - eh what's a 100 bucks at WDW really? The FPs have more value to me since I could ride Soarin' twice in a row !

And how could they just move you? I mean you do have some say in this. Negotiation is in their best interest. DVC owners can be great advertisers for sales. Especially when the customer service is above par. I would not ask for anything ridiculous, just what I thought was reasonable compared to the disruption of my vacation that I planned months ago.

We have 2 studios at BCV during prime F&W and they "bumped" me from my room then I guarantee that I would be negotiating and not for SSR or OKW. Even though they are lovely resorts. My daughters say I have that "I want to speak with your manager" haircut. lol Oh, and my name is Karen. lol

I would think Jambo might be preferred in a studio, but Kidani has Jambo beat hands down in one and two bedroom villas. Just the master bathroom alone. And then there is the extra bathroom.

I loved the 1 bd room at Kidani (that master bath!!) but it will be a cold day in Hades before I stay there by choice again. That death march to our room at the butt-end of the hallway every night was a total killer. I also hated the location of the pool and lack of food options.

Boy, can I agree with that! One night, out of boredom, I counted the # of steps. I happened to be doing a split stay with BCV, so when I got to BCV, I started from my room and took the same # of steps that I'd needed to get from my room at Kidani to the Kidani lobby. Turned out that at BCV that # of steps got me INTO Epcot (not counting the added elevator portion).
