Thought I had everything sussed and we had decided on SL, despite the pool closure. Then I mentioned to DH that I'd love to stay at the DLH one day: bit of a dream of mine!:cloud9: It would also be very handy for me, being 28 weeks pregnant by then, to stagger back for a quick nap if needed!
He said that he would agree and work extra to cover the cost, if he could take part in a sailing competition next year. Sounds ok but I'll have had another baby by then and he'd be away for 5 days: mmmmm! If it's anything like DD was at that age, I'll be tearing my hair out after 5 days without a break!
It would cost an extra £334 to stay there in a standard room and I'm just wondering how good it really is!? I've read reviews on here and Trip Advisor but have heard negative things about the cost of drinks, snacks etc; service; rooms not quite up to par etc.
So, how good is it really? Is it really that amazing or should I go for SL and wait for DH to bribe me in some other way?!!! :confused3
Help!!! I just can't decide!

Sarah given your state ;) and I mean that nicely I think the closeness of DLH would be an absolute boon. DLH would get my vote :thumbsup2

Thanks! Been looking back at past threads as well and it does sound very appealing.

If you can afford it - go for the DLH. This is an experience you won't forget. Otherwise save the money and enjoy your stay at the SL. :thumbsup2

My vote would be for the DLH. I'm sure you'll have some friends or family who'll give you a hand when hubbie goes sailing :goodvibes

Sounds like a fabulous opportunity to stay at the DLH. :goodvibes

and no 2 children are ever the same, I don't think you can guess how the little one will be compared to your DD, in my experience the 2nd one is a lot easier and your DD will love helping you out with baby. :)

I would take the chance while you can. I would love to stay there! One day........ :goodvibes

Have to agree with that one... The second is easier for many reasons, one of which being you are much better prepared and know what to expect, what to panic over and what not to... getting them on a schedule asap is key.

And DLH is a dream of mine too- out of my reach for the time being. Our next trip will likely be Newport Bay, but if you have the chance, I would splurge for the extra cost. It sounds and looks wonderful.

Thankyou for your encouraging words regarding no 2! I think it will be easier but am also preparing myself for another tricky one I guess!
Still not really decided as I'm still finding it hard to justify the cost when we've got a baby coming: we'll see!

Some people will probably laugh at this suggestion ;) , but have you considered the Hotel New York? It would cost you about an extra £100 rather than £330, and the amenities are on a par with the DLH. Obviously it isn't as wonderfully convenient as the DLH, but it really does seem a bit closer than Sequoia Lodge! I realised you've dreamed about staying at the DLH - don't we all!! But if you're really not sure about the extra cost then maybe the HNY is a compromise.

BTW I'm another who had a "trying" first baby and an easier second. :goodvibes
