Amazon has the 205 for 157.87, free shipping. Is that a good price?

Can someone tell me if it has a stopwatch on it (I'm on a program where I alternate running with walking - example 20R/1W.) and/or can it be set up for interval training?

If I share it with DH and only one of us actually uploads our runs can the other delete their runs off the Garmin before uploading it?

Thanks so much!

Shan, I don't see why you and your husband couldn't share a Garmin. How are you recording your runs right now? I rarely upload my runs to my computer since I mostly keep track in a paper log and online at nikerunning.com (just type and enter, no uploading). Every once in awhile I upload my runs to http://bimactive.com/ba/ui/land_main.php?partner=bim but you can each create your own account, and when uploading runs to the website you have to specifically choose which ones to import. That way you and your husband could each have an account and import your own runs. I don't really use the software that comes with the Garmin, other than to transfer the data from the unit to the computer, then save it in a file format compatible with BIM.

When it comes to deleting runs, after you reset the watch the history is stored in the unit. For deleting the history you can keep 1 month, keep 3 months or delete all. If you just want to delete your individual runs I don't think that is possible.

You can set up interval workouts on the Garmin and it will beep to remind you when to walk and when to start running again. I haven't tried that yet (hmmm, maybe I should), I mostly watch the main timer.

Hope this helps! If you want more information you can look at the owner's manual online: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/manual.jsp?product=010-00466-00&cID=142&pID=348

Now this boggles me, as I've only been able to delete individual runs and haven't been able to delete them more than one at a time. :lmao: Now that I grow a brain and look at the rest of the history menu though I see the "Keep 1 Month" and so forth settings. Deleting like 7 runs one by one was quite a pain!

For one at a time:
Mode -> Menu
Enter -> History
Enter -> Running
Enter -> By Day
Enter -> On day you want to delete
Enter -> View Laps
Enter -> On any individual Lap
You will then see "Delete Entire Run" as well as "Delete Lap" So one by one with a lot of enter pushing you can delete individual runs! :thumbsup2

Under workouts, you can set up 4 types of intervals and then choose how many times you want it to repeat.

Run Time/Rest Time
Run Time/Rest Distance
Run Distance/Rest Distance
Run Distance/Rest Time

It starts beeping about 4-5 seconds to warn you before you change, and then there's a fun little jingle when you switch to the next interval segment.

I often do 2 minutes "on"/2 minutes slow (as I only walk, not run), and I can hear the beeping even if I'm listening to music. It's reall easy to use.

After the workout, you can get an average time for each segment, as well as the overall average pace.

You can definitely set it up for interval training. Basically you set up a time for running (in your case, 20), a time for resting (in your case, 1), and the number of times to repeat (which I usually set at some ridiculously high number -- you'll need to experiment). It beeps to let you know when to run and when to rest (walk). There are specific instructions in the manual but if you need help when you have a Garmin in hand, let us know.

Yup, the price does look good compared to what I paid a few months back. At the time Amazon had the best price when I was shopping around.
