Disney is really starting to crack down on people using the common ground around their site. I’ve hear from friend that they made people move their tents, golf cart trailers and cars off the common area. So if it don’t fit on your site you have to move it or take it down. You can have more than 1 car on your site but it must fit on the pad. So this just backs up the Holiday Decoration crack down I reported a few months ago.

Well as long as they are consistent I say "fine".

Now I just wish they would keep the locals out of the Meadow Pool.

I like the one particularly about the cars. Keep it on the pad. Or put it in the overflow lot.

I know the pool crack down over the 4th was a joke. The ID checks were few and far between. I know they did ask some locals to leave and gave out some wristbands but at any given time only 1% of the people at the pool had wristbands.

I typically just use the ground and foliage at the very edge of the pad for decorations.
I don't go deep into the common ground.
I hope that this will still be acceptable.

It is about time.

X2 and hope as mentioned they are consistent and I feel the maintenance personal could help a lot in that regard by reporting violations to Security or the Front Desk via walkie-talkie.

1) I agree.
2) Let's all hope for the consistency part.
3) I haven't worked The Fort for about 4-mths.
4) So don't know if this will be fully implemented.
5) But, like I said, it is about time.

I feel bad about the decorations, I really enjoyed looking at them during the holidays. As long as they don't ban them completely I'll survive.
As for the cars I couldn't agree more. That has gotten way out of hand. Last April the people across from us had two cars and two golf carts and when they had visitors it was even worse. Security was called and all that I saw done was notes placed on the cars because they refused to open the door, pretending they weren't in there. Security did however go next door and make a couple move an easter display that they had set up for thier special needs child. They said it was to close to the next cabin.
We left two days later so I dont know if anything was done officially with the people who had all the vehicles but I hope Disney does do something as far as following up. The overcrowded cars make a site look worse than any overly crowded holiday display.

Agreed littlejoe. The decorations are part of the whole FW experience. And I bought more for our return this year. DH and I love to ride around on the gc and look at all the decorated sites

I'm sorry for asking a question that probably has already been asked a dozen times (although I couldn't find it when doing a search, lol ), but can we no longer decorate our site?

We were there for MNSSHP last Sept., and I had brought a few simple Halloween items to decorate our site and cart with, but DD wants to do more this year after seeing all the great decorations last year, so I have already started hunting/crafting for new stuff that will travel small and be Disney family friendly. pirate:

So is it, No, no more decor; or Yes, some is allowed but at a minimum? :confused3

It has to be kept to your site, no more use of common ground. I believe it will still be wort a loop around the Fort to see them. :thumbsup2

Oh great, thanks! I didn't use common ground last time, so no problems there. Good to know we can still do it, that was so much fun 'looping' and checking out everyone's decor, and of course having people check out yours. ;) We even added days to our trip this year just so we have more 'Fort time'. We LOVED it there. :lovestruc

We are a creative bunch.
Don't worry there will still be decorations.
Maybe some of the massive displays will be down-sized a bit, but I'm sure that we will not have to go with out decorations.
They are a big part of the ambiance of the Fort.
I'm already planning.

Well, if we can't spread out our decorations we will just have to go UP! Lots more lights and stars and angles and Mickeys up in the trees will be an awesome sight to behold.

We have never camped at WDW before now but we do have reservations at FW for late October. I'm a little confused about the one car onsite rule. We have an ultralight popup and a Rav4 so I know we will have room on our site. I thought I read someplace that you can't drive to and from the parking lot, though? What are the rules for driving during your stay?

Thanks!

Your fine. Both the popup and the rav can be on yhe site. There is an overflow lot for extra vehicles, and you can absolutely drive to it anytime you wish.

Other than that - using your vehicle in the fort isnt *restricted* its just not helpful. Theres little or no supplemental parking except at the meadows trading post. Bikes or golf carts are e way to get around, or i guess you could walk - but the fort is very large.

You can use your car to drive off property and back.
You can park it at your site.
You just really can't drive it around the Fort. There are no parking lots. Just the over-flow lot out front.
