Some may remember we were bumped by our original company to indirect yet were being asked to pay prices for direct Virgin flights.Well since we changed the bookings we have had 3 changes in flight times.

First they bumped us back an hour in Philadelphia on the way there. They then changed our flight from 3 hours in Philadelphia on the way back to 6 hours. Now they have changed this to 7 hours today.

When will this end?

I am going to ask them to look into other carriers for us, Unted have a good rep for quality so I will have to see what they can do. I am so sick of this now but we need to sort this with the same agent.

Fingers crossed for you Rob

If we dont find an alternative Carrier through Sky Deals then we are going to ask them for a one or two night stop over in Philly as the DW's best friend lives there. She has just had a baby so dont think there will be much in the way of arguements from Sarah there...

For goodness' sake Rob. How much bad luck can one family have with flights? I do hope you get it all sorted.

What a catalogue of changes! I hope you manage to get something acceptable sorted out soon.

Rob i hope you get this sorted.

Its so annoying when tour ops just don't play ball, they really should be making more of an effort to get you sorted, unfortunately their 'small print' really allows them to do what they darn well like! hope you get it sorted, the stopover sounds like a really good idea and if your Sarahs friend is their it can only add to your overall enjoyment of your trip, good luck :cool1:

Get a feeling of Deja-vu here, waiting for an agents to open to kick off about changing flights.
Our contract appears to be with US Airways and Sky Deals is just the agent. So onto US Airways.

Update
*The agents are supposed to be talking with US Air at the moment but things aren't looking too good. US Air say they are only legally liable for the contract if they make our stop over above 12 hours!! I have requested they look into whether one of the US Air partner airlines will have seats available to bring us to a shorter stay in PHL. As it stands we have 4h 45m stop over on the way and 5h 15m on the was back. (From 1hr 40 and 2hrs originally)

Rob, I so have my fingers crossed for you !

We finally managed to bring the connection on the way to Orlando forward by 1hr 40mins so arriving at McCoy at 20:30. Nothing was going to happen on the way back though. I tried to put us back a day to visit our friends but there was no seats available.

Ok,
Competition... Who wants to keep my kids occupied at PHL for 5 hours and the best wins a thanks from me... :-)

glad you got some of it sorted rob. i can only suggest sedation for the kids :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I suppose at least you got one way sorted Rob!

sorry to here about all your flight problems :guilty:
we had a lot of trouble last year with our outbound flight, the gist of it was that phileus fogg who we had booked with, sent us a our flight tickets 2 weeks before we flew and on them i noticed our times had been changed, which meant we would spend 7 hours sitting around washington airport.
they would not budge at all and insisted they had sent me a letter a few weeks before to inform me of the flight change :confused3
we ended getting into mco at midnight, then there was no intermediate cars leftand on top of all that we had, had discovery cove booked for the following day, which i had been lucky enough to change the date before we left the uk.as there was no way, of 24 hours travelling we could of done dc.
we got in to our accomodation at 2am. i will not consider booking with this company again.
i hope rob, that you get all your flights sorted out.good luck :flower:

Rob sorry to hear of your flight problems. I was wondering who you booked with originally. I am very nervous when flying and insist on booking a non-stop direct flight so would welcome your advice on what not to do to get treated so badly as you have been.

Many thanks

Susan

Sue,

This is our second booking, originally we were with Going Places with a Virgin Flight and a hotel on I drive. We were bumped to a non stop US Airways flight and expected to pay the same price. We were allowed out of that booking and went through sky deals, this was on the same US Air flight but we saved £500. You are at the complete mercy of the US carriers internal flight changes, they still have the one flight per day from Manchester to Philly but the wait is caused by the internal flight times. I presume the only way round this is ensuring you book direct via Virgin Holidays or on a UK charter who will fly direct but to Sanford. Be wary of agents who have all sorts of carriers listed in their brochures as you will end up in the seat that is cheapest to the travel company.
Any other details feel free to PM me
