DH just got back from OKW. He started the trip looking at all the locations listed for the Tinkerbell and Cricket pin for me. Both were sold out everywhere, many told him the Tink would be out again, but the Cricket was long gone and to try ebay.

Well, his last day he decided to try some of the same spots again to see if they had gotten Tink back in, but ODDLY enough many had new shipments of Cricket, but none had Tink. Just a heads up!

Also, he bought my Cricket pin at BWV. The lady asked him for his member card and THEN asked him for his ID to verify it was him! Course, he was offended and told me he didn't like her attitude. LOL Must be a problem with people buying up the pins who are not members?

Too funny, lets see I have to prove who I am to give my money to Disney

That one does not fit very well

I can imagine his reaction

thanks

This is good news that I may be able to buy the pins on my upcoming trip. I'll just be sure to have my member card and my driver's license! Do you think I need my birth certificate, too?:p :p :p

oh, i am disappointed, when the pins first came out i responded to a post about the pins , that i would like one and if anyone was going soon i would send them money for the pins and someone posted back at me, they will have plenty of pins, you can pick them up when you go...... dont worry

well im worrying 3 1/2 weeks to go , maybe they will get more

Hmmm, I was asked for my license when I used my DVC card at the Disney Store the other day. The CM said they have to ask for it now.

I wonder if they are going to start doing this whenever we use our cards.

Hi Shan! What did hubby say about OKW? Did they like it? I know that when I bought my 2 Tink pins at DD, I was not asked for ID. Kind of a bummer, as anybody could have walked up and got them!

I am glad that they are asking for ID. I am sure the non-DVC avid pin collectors out there wouldn't hesitate to snatch as many DVC member pins they could if they could get away with it.

I am slightly bummed that we as DVC members can't order these. I mean, as much as I would like to, I can't be at WDW on a quarterly basis. I'd think the mail order people could take down you DVC member number just like they did when they had Disney Club exclusive pins.

Now to find a Tink pin... (Now that I have one in the set I feel compelled to have them all. )

Anyway, shelbyjosh -
They liked OKW. I will do a short trip report for him soon to share.
Seemed they had a great room location and the Braves spring training was a hit. He got lots of autographs!

As per the member update this at Tuesday at OKW the reason for not doing mail order was so that members who come down at any time of the year (and often only once a year) can still have the opportunity to buy a member exclusive pin.
We bought our Jiminy pins at OKW and found Tink at the pin shop under the 'hat' at the studios. They were sold out of the Tink pinsat OKW but said that more were due in. Tink is an 'open edition' so it is supposed to be available all year.
There is one shop in each park that has the member pins-usually the 'main' pin shop as well as all the DVC resorts.
And yes I was asked for my member card (but not my driver's license:smooth: ) when I purchased the pins.
They are trying to keep it for members but I'm sure that someone will get some and sell them on ebay. It absolutely astonishes me (and annoys sometimes me too) at what shows up on ebay!
Now that I have the first 2 how do I get the other 3 pins?

Well, I can't say that makes awhole lotta sense, but I can certainly hear them saying it.

Since the Tink is an open edition, that meets the requirement for there always being a pin to buy at any time. But what about if you want them ~all~ and only go once a year??

I really think they should let us buy them by mail. They can use our member #, verify it matches our address and even our SS#.

I will only be going down once this year and I want those pins a great deal. I do not want to buy them from ebay. Is that what Disney really wants??

YIPEE!!! Just won Tink pin off ebay for $9.99 plus $1.50 shipping. I was the only bidder! The pin is $10.50 at WDW anyway. I think I lucked out cause the way they had it listed. Now have them both. :) Now when does the next one come out? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Was only able to get JC pin at VB last week. Does anyone know when the next one comes out?

I didn't have to show my DVC card, but I just had taken out a movie, so they had seen the resort card.

Bobbi:D

DW picked up Jiminy Cricket at Epcot last week. CM asked for Member card but barely glanced at it. Sorry Tink is long gone.

I am here at WDW now. I have been able to buy 4 Jiminy pins, but no Tinks.

One CM told me the Tink pins were being phased out, but I really don't think he knew what I was talking about. Another said they will be back in a few weeks.

I am going to Spoodle's for dinner tonight and I will ask at the Boardwalk.

Anyone who wants a Jiminy pin please let me know.

Back a few weeks ago hubby looked all over for the Tink pin and they told him everyone was out but they would get more in. At the start of his trip nobody had Jiminy either, but by the end of the week he was able to find it a few places.

If showing my license helps block out cheaters who have the potential to ruin or at least drive up the cost of our programs, then I'm happy to whip it out.

This is making me SOOOOOOOO mad. We live in California. we were at Disneyland in Jan and will be at WDW in May for MH and again in August after a 7 day cruise on the Magic. All this, and I can't get the pins!!!!! I find that outrageous!!! And yes, I DO want the pins.

Any one else from California??? Are we cheated out of our $$$ or waht???? Anyone able to do a swap with me would be MUCH appreciated!!!!!

We were there a couple of weeks ago and bought the Jiminy pin but they were out of Tink. If anyone has an extra Tink to sell. I would like to buy it off of you.
