Thought I wanted a GCV 1-bed for proximity, reading more and more and finding DVC rentals at GCV very limited I am now considering a 1-bed room suite at DLH, or PP if you could convince me. They are all expensive, any thoughts on what is best considering proximity (traveling with 6, 4 and almost 2) and view? Villas don't have room distinctions but I read 75% are theme park would hate to spend all that money and not get a confirmed view though. Any links to pics or reviews specific to 1 bed suites? Thank u all experienced DL travelers:)

Renting at VGC can be difficult. Generally you would need to plan at least 7 months in advance, and also be lucky to find points from a VGC owner :teacher:
VGC is too small to be split into view categories, although I usually get a requested view :goodvibes

Have you stayed in the 1-bed at DHL? Which did you prefer? The 1-bed villa is available for my timeframe for $2900 + park tickets for around $1300 OR I was quoted $5800 for the same time frame for a 1-bed with park tickets at DLH (which is more since there are currently no specials for this time).

By a wide margin, I prefer a 1-bedroom villa :goodvibes

The 1-bedroom suite at DLH had only 1 bathroom, and seemed to be designed for a business cocktail party. This was before the renovation, so there might be some improvements.

The 1-bedroom villa is a vacation home: 2 full baths, full kitchen, washer/dryer, whirlpool tub...

Not to be Chief Rain-in-the-Face, but it's pretty hard to get GC Villas by renting points. I've tried it with people who have a home resort in FL, which means you only get 7 months in advance to book. I know this gal really well, so I could trust her - that's your first step, getting someone you can trust.

Second, everytime she called, the DVC cast member would say, "All the rooms are booked, but we have availability tomorrow." Then we'd call and get the same thing. It became impossible to get our studio room. Maybe the one-bedroom suite is easier to get. I don't know.

Third, the suites at GC are EXPENSIVE! It costs twice as much points as a studio. By the time you pay for the suite, you could've gotten a room with a bunk bed and trundle (sleeping 5) for the same price or even less with a discount.

I hope you can find a cheaper way, but I've been this route and just wanted to warn you before you invested to heavily. It's exactly why we're staying off-site on our next trip. There are so many suites within walking distance and at a third of the price of the GC.

It depends on when you go, but the 1 bedroom is the easiest to get out of all the villas at GC.
