more computer help please

a while I asked on here about help with the rewards sites where you click on an ad to get points for GC or cash
I got some great advice and added the 2 browsers that were suggested and things were great for quite sometime until now

now Im not sure if this is on the site owners issue since awhile back she said she was having server issues but then found one she thiught would work
or is this a browser issue since even sites she doenst own I get the same message or sometimes it says site cant be found

I sent a message to the owner that runs several of the sites hope I hear something back
but thought someone on here with computer know how would know something

Put the site in here... https://downdetector.com/ This should tell you if its a problem on the server side or your computer.

Try the site(s) on a phone or tablet NOT connected to your wifi. If it works there, the problem is either your computer or internet provider.

Or post the sites here.

The trick is finding out where the "break" is.

Let us know where it works and where it doesn't and we can get you some more help.

thanks for the great tips--I tried the rewards sites all on my phone most came up I think it said server could not be found--the only word I couldnt make out was server Im just guessing that was the word--the print was really small
2 of the sites I didnt get that message it wouldnt load at all

I also tried the website and when I put in one of the sites I get a message
sorry we couldnt find the company you were looking for
Most of the ones I do are owned or run by one person
I tried emailing her like Ive done a few times and it took a while but I got could not be delivered
but theres a few that are one by others and I get the same message

I got a strange feeling these sites are all closed

do you know what all this means though I dont have a clue

not to be rude, but you haven't really provided any additional information, so no, I can't tell you what it means. It sounds like at least some of the websites are "dead", or they didn't pay a bill for their hosting.

If you really want to get deep... every computer has an IP address. There are other computers in the world that decode the address (disboards.com) into an IP address. For example, when you type disboards.com in your browser, there's a "translator" computer that says "oh, you want to go to 108.61.75.210" The signal bounces around from computer to computer until it gets to that address, and then the web page is displayed.

A properly set up "translator computer" won't have the millions of addresses, but it will be programmed so if it doesn't know, it can go ask another translator computer if it has the information.

When you get a "not found" message, either the translator computer(s) can't find a record of the server, so it doesn't know where to send you, something is blocking you from getting to the server, or the server is turned off.

That's the simple description. The reason I had you check on your phone is your phone will go to a different "translator" computer than your PC. That will help diagnose where the issue is. If you can get to a website from your phone but not your PC, there's a breakdown in the "translator" computer, PROBABLY at your internet provider, but no guarantee.

I just did the site on my phone
the ones that are from the same person that were really good all say
server error 404 server could not be found

the ones that are run by others wont even load on my phone it just sits there

I tried again to contact the owner with a different email and that also got returned

I guess there all "dead" like you had said

wallabymail.info is the only one that shows an IP address. The rest say "could not find host". Those I'd say are dead.

wallabymail.info shows an address, which means the server is up and powered on, but if you're not getting a web page, there's a configuration issue.

These can be temporary issues, but if you're getting bouncebacks on emails, I'd say they're done.

And are you sure it's aftermidnightmail.info and not aftermidnightmails.info (notice the S)? aftermidnightmails.info comes up with the same IP address as wallabymail.info.

Sorry, I'm not going to try going to these sites myself.

For future reference a 404 Error means the website is gone. There is nothing you as a website user can do, only the website owner can fix it by putting the website back online.

Im still having issues with the some sites

First when I get the connection reset message it says to check firewall and proxy I tried following the instructions I get as far as show advanced settings. I checked everything on the page that was there and theres nothing marked as such.
So now Im wondering if it would help if theres someway to delete the firefox and brave browsers and reinsstall them. Im thinking that might restart everything.

These were working so good for so long and no it comes and goes.
I can usually work on the sites for about 20 minutes and then the issues start
