I am probably going to get a new computer soon - my desktop is four years old and it has lately had a variety of small issues - more noise from the CPU being the most intense. (It sounds like the motor is laboring more if that makes sense.) I also inadvertently changed my cookie setting and I have to sign in more frequently to some sites - like the DIS - but that is not the reason I'm buying. It just seems like the time to upgrade.
So, questions - if I have a cable modem and a wireless router, can I have a laptop as my primary computer? Could it store my iTunes library and all my media, etc assuming the storage capacity was big enough? How much memory do I need? What's standard these days and what's high end??
How do I transfer/authorize my iTunes library to show up on my new computer and not my old one? Just a matter of signing in and using my password? Or are there different steps to take to deauthorize the old computer?
Any other tips or comments?
Thanks - I haven't done this in four years so I am rusty...
