Wow!! Just returned and thought that there were more characters throughout the parks or maybe its just me. Great photo opportunities with mickey and minnie together, donald and daisy together, pluto and goofy together and all of the seven dwarves...I was well and truly in my element!! As much as I love photos with multiple characters I saw one strange combination at MK. Cruella De Vill and Wendy from Peter Pan...maybe its just me not seeing the connection but it did make our family laugh...any explanation welcome. Well done WDW for getting the characters out and about!! ::MinnieMo

Three years ago when we went back to WDW, the characters were everywhere. April of 2004 on a solo trip, the characters were everywhere.

Whoever finally figured that the characters are the "bread and butter" of Disney has got it right. It diffuses the crowds streaming into the parks and makes everyone VERY happy! Disney characters, the essence of Walt...

Glad you enjoyed yourselves!!!

My last trip was in 1999, and the characters were kind-of hard to find. I found the easy ones like Mickey and Minnie, but no villians, except Hook, and I still need Sleeping Beauty.

I lost my autograph book though, so I don't remember entirly who all I had. I think my rarest was Mushu.

In DS's autograph book from 2002 we had 11 signatures and almost no photo's w/ characters. From the following year til now we've got tons.

Characters were EVERYWHERE when we were there in Feb/05 . DH was estatic when he met Darkwing Duck. The last trip in 01 we had to ask where Characters were hiding just so we could find some.

When we went in January we got a picture of DS with Flik and Stitch. A very odd combo, if you ask me! That was at AK in one of the restaurants - which I also found odd. But it was nearly a monsoon that day so maybe that was why the characters were inside. We also saw King Louie, Terk, Rafiki, Pocahontas, Meeko and Stanley all at AK the same day in addition to Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto at Donald's breakfast. I guess our challenge in October will be to find some different characters!

Where did you see Donald and Daisy together? I have never seen her and would love to in Sept.

Thanks!

It's wonderful that Disney has more characters out meeting! Like others here, I remember years ago (like in 1996-2000) I was lucky to get one character picture per trip! But I think the number of characters out has actually declined over 2004/2005, as I found that 2002/2003 were far better years!

I also seen some "odd" combinations - we met Jafar with the Snow White Queen (they were very funny!!!). It's also fun to meet a hero/heroine with their villian. We met Snow White with the Queen, and also Phoebus with Frollo. :teeth:

Wonder what Cruella and Wendy were saying to each other??? :scared: :)

It's funny, a few trips back I saw Cruella hanging out at MK with Aladdin which seemed very odd, but cool. Later in the day, I saw her with Jasmine, Wendy, and Belle. It seems like she certainly does seem to show up in some unusual groupings sometimes.

Glad to hear the characters are still out in full force.

I'm hoping they will be out in full force when we are there in just over a month. We're taking our 4 yo dd and 7 yo dneice, but I think meeting the characters is more exhilerating for me. I can't wait. I have even gridded out who is where in what parks. Ok, I'm a little nuts.

Oh I am so excited!!!

Getting the characters autograph's and photo's are my dd's favorite thing to do. I think she would rather chase characters around the parks then actually go on any of the rides or go to any of the shows. :goodvibes

You don't sound crazy at all - you sound like a perfectly normal person to me!!!! :hyper: :hyper:

We love characters!! It makes us feel in Disney for real, and i really don't care if the combination match, as long as we get their pics and autograph's.

I'm sure the Stitch and Flik combination had something to do with the rain. :teeth:

We were at MK on a rainy day and all of the characters that were supposed to be "out and about" were hanging out in the back of Expo Hall. They were all pretty hyper and acting very silly. Princess Aurora was sitting on a bench with Prince John (the lion from Robin Hood), but she was insisting he was really Prince Phillip. We kept asking if we could take pictures of them individually, but they refused to separate.

We were at MK twice last week and my whole family commented on how many characters we saw out and about. We normally travel in April and to be honest, with the heat of July, I thought we might see less, not more, than we usually do. MK is where we really noticed the increase and it was throughtout the entire park - we didn't even go into Toontown area. When we were at MGM we really wanted to focus on getting to specific rides or shows before our Fantasmic dinner ressie so we didn't really notice as many. There were some comedians doing an act on Hollywood Blvd. at MGM and my DD thought they were hilarious. Have a great trip to all heading down! :goodvibes

Woohoo! I am so happy to hear this! We are going in November and my two are already saying which characters they want to see. I havent been there since 2003 and my daughter was able to see and take pics with a total of 6 7 characters. I think that makes the Disney experience. Getting the autographs and the pics taken with the characters. That is a main reason why we are doing a couple of character meals. To insure those priceless pics! LOL

I feel the same way you do. :flower:

for the one looking for princess Auroa Check out princess room in Toon Town I have seen her there every trip I've made back that way.

I need to track down Bert from Mary Poppins and Princess Atta from Bugs life if anybody has suggestions of where to try. Cm's have been useless in helping when I've asked.

For any Pooh and Crew Fans Rabbit likes to hang out in Great Britian over in Epcot. He hides in toy store.

I'm not specifically "the one" but I thank you for posting. She is my DD8's favorite, and she often says of our Disney cruise that she didn't get to see Sleeping Beauty and Ariel (wouldn't you think the little mermaid would be on a cruise? ). So I'm hopeful we'll get to see one or both next week. Thanks!

.

We are still trying to track down Bert...we tried to catch him at the 1900 Park Fare breakfast, but no luck.

However, we've seen Atta lots of times at AK. She's not out every day, but she often rotates with Flik. We were actually lucky enough to find them posing together one day.

Good luck!
