More characters in the expensive hotels?

Just wondered whether if you pay more you get more characters as we're still trying to decide where to stay?
Also, how do you know when the characters will be around?

I am tempted to say no since when ever we have visited the various hotels they all seem to get a variety of characters at various times for photo opportunities and official photos.
That said given its' proximity to the park DLH gets a decent share. Not least since Inventions restaurant also has a character buffet in the evening.

I've only stayed in the cheapest onsite hotel (the Santa Fe).
There are characters there every morning, and there is a schedule up on a board in reception as to which ones, and when, they will visit. There is also a stage area there where they do their meet n greets.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy were all scheduled for mornings on the 3 days we were there last. We also were accosted by Goofy in the check-in line at 11 in the morning (his hug set me up for the entire trip ) and Goofy was also around in the restaurant and bar area in the evenings.

Remember you can also visit the characters in other hotels- you dont have to be staying there.

DD had a wonderful time dancing with Mickey in the lobby of New York and we were only passing through to our car which was parked in the carpark there (courtesy of dream AP)

Thankyou! I thought DLH may have more but there's no way DH will agree to that one! I'm glad they have a timetable: DD will be very interested in that! She's never stayed in a Disney hotel before so this will be one of the highlights for her.
