Hi Denise! How are all the grandkids?
We did have a nice time, but we did have a bit of drama last night. Sammie (the almost 10 yr old 4th grader) ran for a school government thing & lost. So she put on a brave front on Friday to me & her mother when she called her. But yesterday, after her sister took the picture Sammie wanted to paint (I always bring arts &crafts projects with me, this time some paint by numbers Disney Princess thing--Sammie wanted the Belle picture), she broke down and cried like she lost her best friend. Then Dana cried because she took the wrong picture, so I decided to cry too (I can claim hurt feelings because Sammie said "this was the worst weekend ever" & "I really wanted Chinese food & not Friendly's"--even though I asked them last week what they wanted). So after the 3 of us had a good cry, and I made Sammie & Dana feel better, I told them they could sleep in the room with me. First we watched Harry Potter 2--the 2 of them are now big Harry Potter fans--and then they went in the bed & fell asleep. But today all was fine, and Sammie did admit she really did want to go to Friendly's. Man, I hope that when she hits 13 things get a little better.....
