More Boardwalk Villa points being released !

Not a good move. We could have bought the 2003 points now if we wanted, in fact my guide

You have a June use year and you could have bought 2003 points now if you wanted?

who is your guide? I would have liked to have been offered this option, my guide told me strictly yesterday that even though I own at BWV I could not buy until next week, and I could not buy 2003 points until June first.

Why wouldnt my guide want to sell me the points? Could he be overwhelmed with to much work?? This is now troubleing me.

Felicia

Hi Felicia and all the DVC'ers

I got a call from a guide named Judy today. Remember, yesterday I was the one who could not get information because I was not a member and could not relate to the first guide I got.

Judy basically told me everything everyone here has previously stated but she could not tell me when a non-member would be in a position to buy. She said "at least several months".

She explained to me "use year" and I already forgot what it meant.

Thank you all for the heads up. She did put be on a list in the event all of you don't buy every last point. LOL

Felicia, I have been following your conversation and I do not understand, you are a member but they would not sell you points for 2003?

They would not sell me points for 2003 because my use year is June and it is not June yet.

I can buy points for 2002 still , but I have to use the 2002 points or loose them and I do not intend to travel until Aug.

I was told that the BWV points will be sold to the public June 1 2003 and re assured that there are plenty of points available in all use years.

I would do what you are , just hope for the best. Boardwalk has the great location of Beach club, with the opportunity for the lower costing standard points. (And I am a 400 pt beach club owner as well) If I was ready to invest earlier I would have bought BWV.

Good luck and I look forward to welcoming you home after June 1 !!

I have a June use year too and my salesperson said I had to buy before April 1 or else I'd be selling back the 2003 points rather than the 2002 points on the MB.

The points actually go on sale Sunday, don't know why Sunday since they are closed and it's a holiday and no-one will be there to "sell" them, but they have my cc # and my sale is in, if you will. But I asked the question after reading your post because I wanted to be sure. MB for a June 2003 made no sense to us so I threw that option out the window. Were you looking for MB and is that why they said not till June? I am 100% sure had I wanted the 2003 contract she would have written it for me. In fact as I himmed and hawed about the 2002 or 2003 she told me if I changed my mind over the weekend to leave her a vm and she would change it on Monday. Talk to your guide again, there's some information that's missing here.

tvwalsh-June uy end of banking is March 30, but end of MB is Feb 28 for June uy. We added on at VWL this year and I had to do it by 2/28, 3 months prior to end of uy.

We were allowed to sell back our 2002 points even though we bought on March 31. (We have a June use year) I guess rules were meant to be bent when money is incoming! Either that or your guide had a quota to meet for February!

HMMMM.............

Now, I'm second guessing when we signed. Nope, just looked and the contract is Feb 27. Trust me, had I been told end of March it would have been end of March. The big procrastinator.

Oh well, I'm sure I needed that push, deadlines and I don't get along.:D

If you are adding on to a June contract, the add on can be banked because they figure a %age of the TOTAL contract. In other words, if you are within the 25% banking window, you can bank 25% of the total, so if the main contract was 400 pts, you can bank a 100 pt add-on. At least, that's the way I understood things when I talked to MS.

Do you all suppose that I can call my guide monday, and ask to buy BWV add on with a june 2003 use year and they can sell it to me that way (I am not looking for MB)?

Maybe my guide was assuming that I wanted to take advantage of MB, but I would never sell back points that early in the use year.

Wouldn't the 25% banking deadline for June be March 31? No banking in the last 2 months (April, May)?

I'm sure you can. There may be something w/MB but I still don't think so. The only thing w/2003 uy is if you wanted to use some of the points before June, which you don't, you couldn't because no borrowing till after closing. I don't know of another reason why. My guide talked me into the 2002 because there was virtually no dues on those points. We are looking to use them ourselves of give the ressie away to someone.

They sold WLV back to Feb use year even though the resort didn't open to what, July. There are many ways they have to fudge the extra points. First, any they buy back could be just written off. Then they own 2-4% at all resorts. There are always days not totally filled at the resorts. All who buy won't get old points depending on their use year.

well, I still don't see why the rush to sell them - they aren't loosing anything until those rooms are converted, and that will take some time once they start. Why not hold them for selling between the time BCV sells out and SS starts pre-sale? I am just wondering what the reasoning is to start selling them now, that's all.

Money in hand for one thing. New maint fees for another. I can't think of a reason not to sell them as long as they'll be ready in time. Actually, I'd like to see them keep the rooms decorated like they are to include the ones for WLV and BCV.

that would be really cool! but they'll prob redecorate them anyway 'cause there'll be those people who don't want to stay at BWV and get a WLV-decorated room.

anyway, just wanted to update that my guide gave me yet another different number of points today.
he said there are about 10,000 BWV points per Use Year, so that's about 80,000 points available for sale.

he said so far today, he's sold add-ons to 5 of his Members already.
i wonder how many Members get assigned to each Guide? and how many Guides there are?
if they're all selling at the same rate, i bet a lot of points got bought up already!

Disneyberry

Who is your guide? You spoke to your guide today? I thought the offices were closed easter sunday?

Im still trying to figure out how many points I want/need. To buy more and finance or just get what I can afford now. I have a 60 pt contract that I would like to see become an even 150 or perhaps 100.

I just want to get my add on so I can stop agonizing over the decision already.

Felicia

If you all had a June use year for 60 pts , what would your Ideal add on be??????? anyone????

Hi, the offices ARE open today. I spoke to my guide, Larry Hope, yesterday (Saturday) and he said he was working today.

(And, YES, I forgave my sister for not sharing this add on information! She offered a weekend in May. )

PS: A warning to all: When I asked Larry if I was indeed on the wait list for more BW points, he advised that I was not. While visiting in December, with another potential DVC couple, another guide assured me that he would put me on the wait list and did not. (Larry was off that day.) So be sure to check with your own guide about these things!:smooth:

I wish my daughters could get along that easily as sisters. I am sure they will eventually grow out of the teenage love/hate sister relationship one day!
It's good to see you will be able to get your add-on even though you fell through the cracks at Disney.

OK I get that = thanks

bumping to see if anyone has bought an add-on yet??

We're considering another 50 to 100 so we can afford more busy times of year or a 2 bedroom without borrowing...
